Would love to see this or something similar to this happen once we establish ourselves in the Premier League 😊

To all those who say we don’t need the extra capacity, in the top league we do.

To all those who say spend money on the team first, agreed but if we want to grow as a club, we have to have a stadium to match our ambitions.

To all those who say where’s the money coming from, not a clue except to say a established top flight Sheffield United would be attractive investment for any investor.

These plans have had marginal updates now and then, when the club have had to resubmit proposals in order to keep planning permissions live.

But this is essentially the same plan first made public in 2009, as part of Kev’s vainglorious attempt to include Bramall Lane in the 2018 World Cup bid.

Nothing to see here.

I know it’s not a new subject but maybe something to take our minds of yesterday‘s abomination of a performance.

Got my hopes up when I saw this thread 😣
Pie in the sky, we'll still be talking about this in 20 years
We haven't even got round to removing the posts on the Kop, or putting a roof on the bogs
We are scaling back, not investing in the infrastructure or club

The club isn’t rich enough for this so we’d need new investors/owners plus it’d be a Premier League ground so tbh we’d need a team to match IMO it’s a selling tool or advert to show future potential to buyers which I’m not against it does show we are at least looking to the future.

Never going to happen in my life time anyway.
I've supported the Blades for 44 years and we've never come close to establishing ourselves has a 1st Division/ Premiership side.
We are the perennial Yo- Yo club, albeit a very slow Yo-Yo when it comes to coming back up.

Let’s make a ground that we never sell out even bigger. Great idea.

The facilities need modernising but it’s not a case of ‘build it and they’ll come’. We have a finite number of people who will attend games and our current ground allows them to attend. No need for 8k empty seats.

By all means improve the facilities in every stand, don’t waste money on extra capacity though.

IMO, For anything like this to work here it would have to be a multipurpose stadium,, But just take a look back at attempts to build any sort of a stadium in Sheffield and you'll see failed stamped all over them..
The only way it could perhaps work is if we shared a ground with the Wendy's, and honestly, would you really want that ?....

Covid put the mockers on removing the kop posts. Was all ready to happen summer 2020.

Even if the stadium was modernised, and the end result was exactly like that in the video, there is no way Sheffield "the original home of football" will ever host a World Cup or Euro game again.

12 stadiums are usually used
Wembley, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea, Villa, Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds, Sunderland.

And if it's not those 12, Everton, Southampton, Leicester, Derby, MK Dons and Coventry would all be in front of Sheffield

By all accounts We’ve got a Saturday lad looking after the Desso and training pitches, our owner has gone missing because the bailiffs are coming, we’ve borrowed against ticket monies up to 2028/29 - and it’s all been spent - yet talk of development is still in the air. Incredible.

Looks great, but isn't this just a better rehash video of the original video released to redevelop the Lane?

It looks good but as an old cynical guy I think it is like the idea of a fast train to Leeds or Manchester, electrifying the London line or a new road across the Pennines or even a tunnel. Great ideas but talked about for years and not happened yet and not sure any will happen in my lifetime? I mean if we can't even get a training pitch or other facilities that cuts the mustard we have no chance. I truly hope I am wrong.

Load of shite, shouldn't be steps to gain access to the kop in this day and age it should have gently sloping access ramps, just a remake of McCabes load of bollocks with offices built into corners instead of seats.

Haven’t we sold out season tickets for the last two seasons fans have been there? There’s also the addition of more commercial facilities, in particular executive boxes, which again, I think are all sold out.

I do take your point though, wouldn’t want us to go for the full expansion in one go. It should be incremental to reduce the chances of the ground being empty and matching the on field fortunes.

The most sensible approach would be to do the south stand first. Then expand the Kop once an established Premier League outfit.

I’d also think these plans would be revisited anyway as there about 13 years old now. May well be better solutions.

That said, this is all arbitrary as we seem to be short of a few quid.

We're averaging 27.5k in the championship. That's a ludicrous post. Clubs that fail to plan for a successful future will never know long term success.

We sold out of ST's in the first PL season but that was to be expected. The addition of better corporate facilities would be good.

If the ground was full every week then I'd understand it, but if we stay down next season we'll be back to 25k attendances again.

How is it ludicrous? I don't think we sold out more than a handful of games in the PL when we were flying the other season.

Anyone who thinks we'd suddenly have 35k-40k fans in the ground on a regular basis if we built the capacity needs their bumps feeling.
