Good luck Hal.

I moved away a few years ago and no longer get to every home game.

I still do as many as possible, but my heart aches when I watch a game at BL on tv. I suspect you will also miss it terribly.

It’s not just the game, it’s the whole day. The pub, the build up, the bantz, the anticipation, team news coming out, the regular characters you see, the smells (well I do go on the kop 😆).

Best of luck.

Enjoy. You won't regret it.

Exactly as WYB says above, missing the match day is hard. I remember in pre-internet days going to the phone box at 6pm every Saturday to ring back to the UK for scores, through the days of mIRC chatrooms (which were delightfully less shouty and centred mainly around opening lucky beers and which cheese we were consuming in the hopes that it might somehow create a goal for the mighty Blades), radio-internet coms being relay-typed into chats (corner SU... ....goal kick) through to today's relative luxury of being able to see pretty much any Blades game live, one way or another.

Oh, and two years and you might be able to get Cypriot citizenship :)

I'm in my 50's and would still refuse to move away, based on the footy / pub / social life.

Sad, I know :)

Good luck Hal, I'm sure you wont regret it. As well as dealing with a new cultural setup, bringing joy and frustration in equal measure, the distance will also give you a much clearer perspective on life in the UK...

I’ve turned down jobs in the past when we’ve been in league one because It meant I’d have been away more.

Weirdly my interest wanes a little when we’re higher up and on tv more. Not because I get to watch us on tv, but because the games are rarely Saturday 1500pm or Tuesday 1945pm.

I can relate to that. Sky really fucks the social side up, which is a huge part of it for me.

Sad news!

Hopefully you will still make content here and there when possible!

Best of luck fellow Blade.

Good luck pal,for some reason I always thought you would end up on the sports team at bbc radio Sheffield, and shooting down pigs on praise or grumble😂

To all those publicity hungry Tik-Tok gimps cramming bandwidth with inane videos full of 'comedy' and the like - you see, something great can become of it.

Just kidding Hal, good luck - reyt opportunity, glad you're gonna keep up with the Sheff United Way stuff👍 🙂
