The worst one for me (not at the post Christmas game) was the 2-0 defeat in 2002 when we hammered them but couldn’t score. What a bloody horrible day that was.

My eldest has been once to the Tonge Akinbiyi game so his memories are only positive

I went once for a non-Derby, when I was about 7 years old. My Cub Scout troop got some free tickets and I was new to football, and not yet the die-hard Blade that I am now (but I was still a United fan). Sat on the front row of that shitheap they call a kop and watched Ipswich of all teams dick the pigs 4-1. Me and my mate had united shirts under our cub jumpers.

Last time I went was early 90's. It was a pre-season "friendly", think it was called the Steel City Trophy. All I can remember is we got a last minute winner and I missed the bus so had to walk back to the city centre. Does anyone else have any more details (of the game, not my walk home)

Could be this one:

Aug. 9, 1994. Pigs 2 Blades 3 (HT 1-0 to the Blades). Scorers: Nathan Blake (2), Bobby Davison. Crowd: 13,724. That's the only win at the sty in that fucking stupid competition I can find.

The attachment is Aug. 5th, 1995 at the Lane. Blades 1 Pigs 3. Flo scored and the crowd was 13,254.

That seem game, Mick Prendergast, Owls striker, a real nasty piece of work, spat full on in the face of Blades goalie John Hope. We had a close view of it. I thought then what a vile creature he was and what a vile club this was. I haven’t changed my mind since. Prendergast died fairly recently. I wasn’t one of the hypocrites who wished him RIP, I thought he was scum of the lowest order, but at least he’d found the perfect club for him!

Good lad! I've never understood that, when somebody dies, they're the best thing since sliced bread. (Is Barbara Windsor dead yet?)

Another thing I don't get is 'I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.' Well I would.

Not been since Whitehouse and Davison , just can not bear to give them any money of mine , after all i pay plenty of tax , and they have had plenty of that , with their free car-parks / flood defences , disaster costs etc .

Apart from seeing us there, I once got a ticket in their main stand from my brother-in-law, who was from Linconshire and decided to be a pig fan when he lived in Sheffied (it was a fad, he sooned moved on to another hobby), they were playing Liverpool, 1988, and I was sat right in the middle of the scum.

Classic Liverpool team, Ian Rush, Grobbelaar in goal, etc.

I sat quietly as Liverpool scored, then scored again, by the time the third went in I was on my feet cheering and clapping. The pig fans were seething and there were a few "fuckin sit down" shouts, but no one had the guts to come and say anything to my face.

It finished 5- 1 to Liverpool, and I walked out with a big smile.

Of course, I wiped my feet on the way out................

Spuds vs Wolfs FA cup semi final 82 maybe - wakey wakey Silent -. Early doors the spurs fans were climbing out of Lepers lane end and watched the game sat on the sidelines and behind the goal. Doesn't need thinking about . Tragic.

That was an incredible wake up call. The bastard pig's ignored it completely. We all know what happened in 89.

Yes, but also caging fans in like animals was a factor. Shocking. After that I think some clubs pulled fences down without being directed to do so.

1972-3ish during the miners strike and the 3 day week we played at swillsborough on a saturday. Not sure if it was some cup game and it could have been a draw.
Anyways bear wi me a bit. I was doing pretty badly at school so dad banned me from the Blades until I pulled me socks up.
Both him and me Ma had to work their 3 days on Thursday Friday and Satdeh. So off me and my mate went, what could possibly go wrong ?
When I got home Dad already was and went ballistic, confiscated season ticket so no goofing out even to see half a game or the reserves.

Also did Zenith, Boxing day, Davison day. Some others an'all.

Agreed. But there were plenty of warning signs ignored. They share culpability for what happened as is out there in the public domain.

Another one Bill. Valley parade 81 - 82 won 2-0 v Bradford. One of the lads said, " ############ wouldn't want to be here if a fire broke out.
Hopefully we've seen the last of these events and every fan enjoys a good day's footy -

Except the pigs ( not wishing harm just to to lose every game )

1981. Forgot about the semi final when I was planning my journey to play in a football match at Concord Park. The traffic jams meant I was late in arriving for selection so I watched the match that ended in a big punch up and the ref having had enough and blowing early for full time!

Yes, I pretty sure we went 2-0 up through Nathan Blake, they made it 2-2 late on before Davison scored a last minute winner to make it 3-2.

World cup or European nations qualifier 1970's. Had to be N.Ireland, played Turkey ?. 0 - 0. Boring.

Just remembered another. Got taken as a guest by a bunch of Danes to watch the Euro 96 game against Turkey. Denmark won 3 0. Had my face painted and wore a Blades shirt the nearest I had to the Danish red and white. Brilliant day made complete post match in the now demolished pub at the bottom of Halifax rd when I was threatened by a bunch of pig fans and 20 plus Danes jumped in and told them where to go. They couldn't get out fast enough. Went back to my pub the High Greave and celebrated long into the night.

When the good lord decided to send biblical rains and flood the sty I was employed by a....er... lets say large communications concern.
I managed to gain access to sty6 ,uh hm, physical correspondence and add to it a plastic duck. Like yer av in't baff.
Laws was trying to sign our skipper then (never happening) so I put a name tag on't duck.

Billy.

Hope that counts.

My mate was a specialist metalworker/welder
The company he worked for got the contract to make the metal football at the top of the South Stand at Sty6

His job was to shape and weld the two pieces of the football together, but before joining them together he scrawled "Sheffield United FC" into the inside of it.
His message also included "Fuck off you piggy bastards" or something similar as well

I said to him, what if you'd got caught, you'd have been sacked. he just said they gave me the job, nobody saw me doing it, and once I'd welded both parts together who's gonna know.
