We definitely need 2 in this important position, we could be losing 4 GKs this summer? (Thank god)

Wes
Davies
Grbic
Amissah

Can't comment too much but heard good things on Faxon, so maybe he'll be number 3? Or we'll need even more GKs!

Of all the things a normal, functioning club with anything like the semblance of a decent youth system/academy is able to produce goalkeepers... If we can't have two GKs between the ages of 17-21 who aren't worthy of at least a backup spot in the Championship, then what the chuffing hell are we doing ...

Evidently Wilder has hinted that Davies may be staying....... .

Davies is fine as a back up next season if we can assemble a halfway competent defence to protect him.

He isn’t as bad as people make out. Not a championship starter but would be a capable no 1 at a League One side.

The days of having an Alan Kelly/Simon Tracey level of competition are long gone, particularly with our lack of finances. Plus the demise of reserve team football means your second choice isn’t getting enough match practice.

Agree with all of this.

Will suit us down to the ground then in 15 months

Marek Rodak & Simon Moore both on a free is staring us in the face. Faxon as third choice.

Take this opportunity to clear out the goalkeepers (young Faxon aside) and start again. Davies is ooc. Get rid. It wouldn't cost the Earth to get a half decent cover keeper in to replace Davies who is an absolute horror show on crosses. Can you imagine him in our net against the grunters next season as they throw in cross after cross and he is stuck to his line. No thanks. Rather have someone like the Crawley keeper as a someone challenging for the number 1 position along with another incoming keeper.

Carl Rushworth would be a clever signing. Rules us out then 😆

There's enough half decent keepers out there who should be attainable for a club our size and just coming out of the PL. There is no excuse now United in not getting this right. Enough duds, get it sorted once and for all, by applying just a modicum of common sense.

I can’t tell if you’re been facetious or not here 😂
Not at all.
If we are considering keepers who are of Championship standard then he would be fine. It is unlikely that we will bounce straight back so we can take time to see whether any are good enough internally for the PL and if not then seek to recruit a young keeper who will be.
To expect us to find and pay for a keeper who is good enough now for the PL and who wants to join us is unrealistic in my opinion.

Lee Nichols - Huddersfield
Very good keeper
My only worry is that he's been used to losing and conceding (like us all season) Anything negative in a signing we need to stay clear of. Form/injuries/poor season.

Freddie Woodman would be my choice but not sure how much for.

I agree Woodman is a very capable keeper too , I’m hoping ( sorry praying ) that we get some leaders in the summer , ie someone like Worrall at centre back and that whoever’s in there will have some protection . Watched Nichol a good few times and rate the lad , only minus being he has had a few injuries.

Each to their own, I get what you’re saying however in my view I would not be going in to the season with Davies as my number 1, even if we have to consoldate, as a back up maybe but I think it’s the most important position on the pitch it assures the back 4/5 and can build upwards. Davies for me a decent shot stopper but a poor man’s Wes no where near good enough with his feet either.
