Not that he has been mentioned or that we would approach him or visa versa but what would we say if he was announced?

Personally I would be very happy, despite his well documented negative side with handicapped people etc he was a pretty successful trainer, also at this level with Swindon. His teams play good football and despite being out of the game as a coach for a while he knows what is going on.

Rather have him than a lot of the other names being thrown about at the moment.

I'd challenge the notion that his sides were good to watch, his time at wolves for instance was characterised by small extremely dull play.

He is still coaching - in Spain with players that have been discarded by clubs at youth level. Giving them a second chance.
Players from all over Europe go to his training camp.

Is he? Thanks Kenilworth I didn't know that but even better as he must be in contact with loads of good young players who need a second chance and where better than BDTBL :-)

I don't think he has done anything bad enough in a past life to be handed the Blades job.

He wouldn't be interested, his work in Spain is hugely important to him.

Great international coach, not too sure about day to day club management. England were stupid to sack him, despite his ill-advised comments.
He should of refused to answer the question as it had nothing to do with his ability to do his managerial job.

He knew what they were fishing for, and knew what the reaction would be.

I've heard from someone who used to work at Southampton that he loved to show players how great he was in every 5-a-side session.
He also had a habit of naming & shaming players who'd made mistakes in post-match press conferences. Not sure that's the best way to get players to play for you?

He proved at Swindon that he can do a job out of the limelight.

He obviously has some great connections and through his 2nd chance Academy in Spain will know a huge number of good young players.

I think that even if we managed to get Pembo in contact with Hoddle we'd have the possibility of a great link up.

As for managing us. I think we could get somebody more accustomed to the league who would come with a lower profile and perhaps expectation.

I wouldn't grumble if Hoddle came in though
