Personally I think it is now the right time toler him cut his teeth.

He has more managerial experience than David Weir had when we appointed him. I didn't see the Coventry game as I was away but yesterday we played a lot better than I have seen for a number of weeks and we played more football in the final third than we have done for a long while, we showed a bit more commitment and desire than we have for a while and he managed to send out a team who had been in absolutely abysmal form for a while and motivated them to a comfidence boosting win.

He also spoke honestly and truthfully in his post match interview, and what he said also made a great deal of sense and I pretty much agreed with everything he said.

I think he should get the job, and be allowed to have the rest of the season with the mandate of survival as the minimum and with the opportunity of showing his worth.

I would rather have a gamble with Morgan than back someone who has been unsuccessful elsewhere, or is unproven but has got good marks in the exams for the pro-licence and been to watch Barcelona train like Davis Weird was.

disagree. We weren't great under Morgan last yr, he has barely any managerial experience, we could have been beaten 5 or 6 against cov and only won against 10 men yesterday, hasn't done anything to convince me and we could easily get relegated under him.

in the long run, we'll see, but its not a stable time at the club for him to get it now in my opinion.

Morgan isn't ready and is too close to the players. I still haven't forgotten his shocking comments after the shameful performances against Yeovil in last season's play-offs. He's an improvement on Weir but we need experience.

Nah too soon for Morgan and I think he himself would agree.

I too can't ignore his comments after the Yeovil play off match and yesterdays performance does not paper over his brief spell in charge earlier in the year.

Although I do think he is worth keeping at the club regardless of who comes in as manager.

If we hadn't grabbed a winner on Saturday, it would all be 'worst performance ever by a Blades team', 'the end is nigh', 'Morgan's clueless' etc.

But it happened - we grabbed a winner. And now Morgan's the messiah.

For me the truth is somewhere in between. Morgan has the potential to be a good manager in the future, and would probably be OK now if our ultimate aim were to stay in League 1, as I think he'll motivate well in a relegation fight, and get enough points at home to keep us up. I don't believe, though, that he has the tactical nouse to build a team which will consistently achieve 3-point outcomes away from home, or that he will really take the team forward in the longer term.

The danger is that if talks with whoever-we're-talking-to are proving difficult, and Morgan gets us a couple of results in the mean time, the board appoint him because he's "the fans' choice". I think we'd soon discover the limitation in where he can take us.

If he hangs around for a couple more games we might be able to get O'Driscoll to advise him. Now there's a man who really understands what a bad run is.

He did the same vs. Swindon & Brentford last season then it all turned sour

Pinchy loves O'Driscoll.

Not really. I predicted it (guarantee, I think I said). The thought processes of a Hoofer can be predicted with consummate ease. If only Ladbrokes would give me odds, eh?

I'd give Morgan the job until a decent candidate becomes available. You think one division 6 promotion in 15 years of management qualifies someone for that position.

It's really sad that you've set your standards for United so low.

You LOVE shite.
