Apparently warnock is going to hold talks with him over the next few days and is going to offer him a short term deal.

i think he could be a useful backup player just in case Ifill gets injured (hope not)

Experience is always a good thing.

Surprised some people aren't moaning about his age like they did with Shipperley.

oh good so at least if we do get him he will still have a good couple of years left in him then

He could be a good signing. He's a bit old now though.

Exactly - Colin Morris, Alan Woodward and Tony Currie weren't too shabby either :)

I had the first two in mind, actually, but yes you are right.

I rate Gillispie very highly though. Highly in my list of most overrated Blades, that is. He's right up there with Mitch Ward but still a long way behind current leader Nigel Spackman.

I know Currie wasn't a winger "per se" but I remember some (albeit young memories) of cracking crosses that he supplied. Brian Deane was also very good too....

Gillespie overrated? I thought he did a decent job for us, especially considering he was a last minute free signing.

Nice bloke too.

Geoff Salmons, Bill Punton, even Paddy Buckley when he got a game...

Oh, could you put the kettle on please? Time for a cuppa before I go shopping I think...

:):)
