The majority have had the Jab because they have been backed into a corner,In the space of a few weeks I've had over 30 calls from doctors urging me to get the Jab and to me it seems like bullying until you give in even though you don't want to.

Do you regularly ignore advice that your Doctor is giving you? You should've just explained that some bloke on Twitter has advised you differently and they'd have stopped calling.

Just remember that the vaxed (me included) may all turn into a plague of zombies of course (always happens in the films) then you'll have a whole different problem on your hands.

I’m assuming it’s not 30 calls from doctors, but from more likely your local surgery however that isn’t bullying, they’re doing their job and trying to protect you.
Did you tell them there was no way you were having it and to stop bothering you?
Blocked the number eventually and thankfully haven't heard from them since.

Wasn't just the Twitter thing I never wanted to get it and still don't.

In that case - get jabbed!
Far better to be a zombie and kill a few people ( horrifically) than to be one of those killed.
(Science, innit?)

You blocked your local surgery?
The key part of my response was, did you tell them there were no circumstances under which you’d have the jab and to stop bothering you?
It wasn't my local surgery it was the riverside stadium in Middlesbrough they were doing the Jab.

Pretty much echo the sentiments of a few in the thread. Can't be arsed to get in to yet another passport for or against but this just seems impossible to work. As mentioned before the time it will take to scan all the QRs will be huge.

With literally millions likely using it (if all grounds begin to enforce it) amongst all the other people using it if it becomes mandatory for some establishments the app will inevitably have its problems. If for whatever reason it's down, what plan would the ground have in place?

There's also going to be some elderly at the football that won't have smart phones and subsequently no passport, is there a more... analogue option for the passports?

Ah that's fair enough then.

Could end up taking me back to the days of trying to buy booze before I was 18 "No mate I've definitely got my jabs but I left my passport at home come on let us in this once I'm always here"

While I don't doubt there are people out there who believe that, I'm sure there are vastly more who are worried about health effects of the jab.

I'm one of those people, reading reports and hearing testimonies of people on hear that it is fine, three of my friends have had quite serious side effects (although thankfully short term) from the jab.
One had symptoms of the virus itself and was bed ridden for, three days, one went blind for twenty minutes and finally one suffered aching joints for about a week.
Now it's good that none of those were long term issues and it could be argued it's worthwhile if it protects them (or another) from a severe form of covid, however in my mind it does raise questions about the safety of the vaccine, are there other longer term effects hidden away that may not come to light months if not years from now?

So yes I will admit, I am scared of getting the jab, after all it's human nature to be more influenced by our immediate surroundings (friends, family) than things remote events (people on message boards, media reports) especially when coming from a position of doubt, it only enhances my doubts not allays them.
I’ve got a friend whose wife had a awful reaction to the jab, and will (it seems) never recover, semi paralysed.

However, I’m mathematically driven in just about everything I do. The stats are enormously in favour of people getting vaccinated.

All the above is starting from the standpoint that we accept we’ve had to control the virus in the way we had (lockdowns etc), rather than crack on with life regardless. In twenty years time I think we’ll be apologising to future generations for the financial burden we’ve left them, in order to prolong the life of (in the vast majority) 83 year olds.

This thread has been entertaining for sure.

My son was born in November 2019, during 2020 we missed out on so much as we were unable to take him places thanks to the lockdown. FYI I've been double jabbed since July and from the moment I heard about the vaccinations I wanted it and wanted to "do my bit", I wanted to try and get things back to normal for my son and for every other child who's missed out on so much development due to this pandemic. I've never had a problem with them, even with the blood clot issues which came with the Pfizer vaccine, it didn't sway my opinion.

I always think what my view would have been if I didn't have a son born just before this all kicked off.. I just wanted to protect him the best way I could and it even got to the point where I was close to cutting off contact with my own mum because she was a selfish fucker during lockdown.

Everyone has their own opinion and reasons for getting or not getting jabbed.

the reason I didn't buy a season ticket this year, as I figured they'd be introduced some point this season. Jabbed or not I fundamentally disagree with them and refuse to attend anywhere that requires them. I'm guessing no where will miss my business (in fact I'm sure many will welcome it) but if you can't stand for your principles what can you stand for

You can get an NHS letter. I got one.
Where and what do these letters/ passports look like? Been Doubled but only ever got 2 cards. Thanks for any advise.

If you just put 'NHS Covid Pass' into your search it will take you to their site and give you digital and paper options. In the case of the paper option they will then send a letter to your address which gives your vaccinated status.

In case you didn't realise, here is the deal. I'm particularly aiming this at those commenting along the lines of "long queues" "minimum wage stewards" "not enough QR scanners" "internet will go down" "etc".

I was at the England v Andorra game at Wembley yesterday. That was the NINTH England game I've attended since the end of last season. All nine run under some form of Covid Certification needed for entry.

It's the threat that counts.

If there is an event you really want to go to, and the event organisers say you need Covid Certification to get in, then a lot of people will understandably think - FFS, I don't want to go all the way to X, to see my favourite thing Y, having spent a fortune £Z on the ticket & travel, and not get in.....

So, a lot of people will take that seriously, will sort out their Covid Passport on the NHS App (NOT Track & Trace App), or get the necessary paperwork, or take and report a Lateral Flow Test. That will all reduce (not eliminate) the risk of Covid transmission at the event. And that's job done for the organisers. All achieved by "a statement".

It doesn't fucking matter whether you can implement any checks at the Turnstile. Because you don't need to. It's the Threat Of Checks that works. There might be checks. There might not. There might be random checks. It might be you. You won't know when you buy the tickets, when you commit, when you get in your car, when you get up in the morning, looking forward to your day, looking forward to seeing that thing.

Yesterday, I (happily) had all my passports & paperwork & tests in place as I walked up Wembley Way. Because I didn't want to be turned away at the Turnstile. And, there were stewards checking, but not many, and they didn't check me.

It's the threat that counts.

It’ll be fine. Up to c. 90% of adults currently. By the time it’s implemented we’ll be up to 95% I imagine. It is what it is.

Well it WAS ‘the threat that counts” until folk read this !

I disagree. Even if you know that not everyone will be systematically checked at every event, there is still the possibility that you, the individual, will be one of the few checked & refused entry. Or that the event you are attending will be the one selected for more thorough checks. The threat still exists doesn't it?
