Just when you think Clueless Carlos can get any worse...

Hirst has not played for Wednesday at any age level this season and, when asked for an update, Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal claimed it was 'completely out of my orbit'.

'He's not a player who is involved with us,' said Carvalhal. 'I am the manager but I'm not a person to do contracts and talk about these things.'

Imagine CW saying that? Then their 'fans' weigh in:

"George is not ready for first team championship football. He needs to fill out and develop in the lower leagues without the pressure of trying to get into the premier league."

"He still looks too light weight for first team action."

"Totally agree. He's like a beanpole at the moment and would be eaten up by experienced cb's."
(Such as Jac Cunt?)

Two words, you clueless fucks. David. Brooks.

So, not content to ruin his career before it's started by not picking him, they slap a prohibitive £2m fee on him. Come to the Lane, son. We'd love you down here.

I wouldn' love him down here. Why the @@@@ do we want an unproven pig who seems more concerned about money than anything else. If indeed he has the same agents as Bolt, Neymar etc that says everything about him.

Don' understand why any Blade is even remotely interested in him, I couldn't care less if ends up at Stocksbridge Park Steels

I'll give you Carl Bradshaw, Alan Quinn, Del Geary, Brian Marwood, Franz Carr, Dean Windass, Simon Stainrod and Leigh Bronby who 'did a job' for us.

All established players who had played at a high level unlike Hirst who nobody would be paying the slightest bit of attention to if it wasn't for his lardarse old man !

and the fact that he bangs goals in for fun for England of course.. i overheard a conversation in the pub last week about this between some Wednesdayites.. i had to butt in. 'he's coming to us..'.. 'who are you'.. 'united'.. deadly silence.. i had my bottle in my hand ready.. they didn't like that at all.. humourless bastards :D

He'd be worth signing purely for the reaction of the pigs; even more so if he started scoring in the 1st team.

Marwood "did a job" on his pension fund @ t'Lane
Carr & Windass only borrowed by "the massive"
Stain rod was ours 1st
Doesn't take away from your overall point & can also add Rostron & my personal favourite ex World Cup stadium dweller - the mighty Jeff King !?!?!?!
Also David Ford who from dim distant alcohol addled recollection didn't hit the heights for us
And also their 'tc' - not fit to clean the shite off the boots of the only TC in Sheff

I really can't see Hirst moving to Utd (mainly for financial reasons) although he's obviously got something about him - his scoring record for both the Massive and England is extremely impressive.

Whatever happens to him it's a shame his season has pretty much been a write off so far. Compare him and Brooks - it shows that Utd are finally getting a lot of things right.

And the fact that he did well in the very same competition that Brooks made his name at.
And I don't think he's after money - he just wants to play competitive senior football but (I suspect) the terms of his new contract with Pigs would restrict him from moving on to a club that may give him a chance of that.

I asked a pig-supporting friend of mine about this situation over a pint yesterday.

From what he knows, young Hirst was about to go on loan to Rotherham but he wanted to sign a new deal before he left. The club came back and said it'd be sorted when he got back from his loan. This wasn't good enough for young Hirst (and presumably old Hirst), so he's now not got a new deal and he's not out on loan learning men's football.

The reason talks have gone nowhere regarding a new deal was that the lad wanted £15,000 a week, even though he's never even been anywhere near the first team. This is more than some of their first-teamers earn according to my mate.

SUFC wouldn't touch this lad with a barge pole if that's his attitude.

Pig-supporting friend then spent 5 minutes saying how much of a "fucking bellend" George Hirst is, which amused me greatly :D

We did that with Ryan France, and squandered half a million quid in the process.

A real enigma. Grew up with him, played in the same sunday league team - albeit year below me.

I never understood how he made it, I guess a lot of it has to do with connections and being in the right place etc...

Now a financial adviser. Hopefully he's better at it than Richard Rufus...

Bradders was a childhood Blade from Hackenthorpe who only went to the unclean because United had a shit youth programme at the time.

I wouldn't class him as a pig.

Geoff? People on here complain Sharp and Clarke are too old... There'd be a meltdown if we signed a 75-year-old!

Knows where the back of the net is though

These days he'd be better knowing where the Ralgex is.
