Leeds have the same rules (I think its EFL's ground regulations). My granddaughter was going to take her Greece flag tonight so we contacted Leeds - it must have a fire safety certificate otherwise it won't be allowed in.
 
Same legislation applies at all grounds does it not and has done for years? Certainly not the first time I’ve seen the club mention this.

Other clubs like palace have highly organised supporter groups who are probably quick off a mark at liaising with their clubs on such matters.

It’s not a ban on flags anyway.

It was more about the size I was talking. I'd expect fire certificates to be the norm
 
Without knowing the pros and cons, we've all been led to believe that there's such a thing as a matchday 'experience', something that
will enhance our feelings of belonging, of being part of the Blades Family. To that end, surely like many clubs throughout the UK and Europe,
the emblematic and symbolic nature of a banner that goes right to the heart of what we're meant to be about should be encouraged rather than
viewed as some sort of 'escapade' intended for the killjoy attitudes that belong to jobsworth's who are clueless about what this club means to thousands of Blades?

Knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing comes to mind. I hop the club makes a statement of support for this most worthy of supporter initiatives.
 
Do we know if the club are going to do anything at the next home game for fans that aren't going tonight. I'm sure they will but wondered if anyone had heard anything
 

Although the minute's silence/applause/ Starman chant seemed to be met with approval, in the ground it was impossible to know what was supposed to be happening. Until this morning I hadn't realised wreaths had been laid - wouldn't it have been better if they'd been taken onto the pitch. As soon as the players lined up the 'Starman' chant started (understandably) and at this stage I assume the crowd in general were being told it was going to be a minute's (which it should have been). Blades fans continued chanting and the Leeds fans in the Elland Road stand started clapping. As far as I could see in the East stand there was a mixture of clapping and silence.
It seems a shame that it all appeared a bit 'cobbled together' - but fortunately worked out in the end.
 
The wreath laying was really obvious in the away end? It was literally right infront of us, and I could see if from the second-to-last row

Regarding the clapping and singing, the stadium announced a minute of silence, but the spontaneous singing from blades and the Leeds fans backing that up by joining in made it what it was. No biggy in my opinion. 100% respect shown all over the ground. I think the spontaneity added to it
