why couldnt he have been a mass murderer
Tis a question I ask myself every day.
Led to some interesting convos round the dinner table though with him and my Blades supporting Brothers. I'm surprised it wasn't my Mother who lost her hair :)
RIP Mum and Dad.

TC scored. Mick Hill left us to Ipswich in October 1969 but he did score the goal in our 1-0 victory in Nov 1967 (Woody in goal from the 9th minute after Hodgy injured his hand stopping a Lorimer shot)

Bert's memory seems to think that it was a long shot along the ground at the Kop end from TC.

Our first goal at the Kop End that season was Eddie Colquhoun's opener in the 3-2 win against Wendy on 3rd October. That season we scored a lot more at the Lane End

I remember Mick Hill's winner against the Dirties very well Silent. It was my first stand-out game when I started going regularly. I think that was the last game at the Lane where Blades and Leeds fans were mixed in together on the terraces without much segregation.

A young Mick Hill was in the side because we'd sold Mick Jones to Leeds in the summer, and he scored the winner with a great header. We taunted the Leeds fans will chants of ''You've bought the wrong one!" over and over again.

Sadly, time would tell that they hadn't bought the wrong one. We'd lost one of the finest strikers ever to pull on a United shirt, a consummate professional very much in the mould of Jags when it came down to having the right attitude. Selling Jones was the first time United made me sick to the pit. Unfortunately it wouldn't be the last.
Yea selling Mick Jones was the first time I felt really gutted about football
I was only ten.

Gary Speed died the same day as my Grandad, it was quite a surreal day.
First shock and disbelief about Speed and then saddened even further a few hours later, although with my Grandad it was expected
RIP to both

still chokes me up thinking of him. apparently the biggest killer of men under 50 is suicide. makes u think, we need to encourage each other to talk to folks more about mental health problems. RIP Speedo, thanks for the memories.

Billy, my birthday is August 13th. thought you might like to know ;-) (b)
