RIP Gary Speed, a real class act on and off the pitch, admired and spoken fondly of by everyone that knew him.

Happy Birthday BB.

Gary would have been 47 today. I know this because we share a birthday but I'm a year younger.
RIP Speedo
We beat L**ds by a TC solo goal in the League Cup on the night you were born!

Don't know you Billy but all the best on your birthday mate.

Still have a touch of melancholy when I reflect on Gary's death. I hope anyone who suffers from depression reaches out and finds someone to talk to, you only get a one-way ticket in this life so do your best to embrace all the good there is in the world.

Cheers pal.
Sensible words after too :)

TC scored. Mick Hill left us to Ipswich in October 1969 but he did score the goal in our 1-0 victory in Nov 1967 (Woody in goal from the 9th minute after Hodgy injured his hand stopping a Lorimer shot)

I remember Mick Hill's winner against the Dirties very well Silent. It was my first stand-out game when I started going regularly. I think that was the last game at the Lane where Blades and Leeds fans were mixed in together on the terraces without much segregation.

A young Mick Hill was in the side because we'd sold Mick Jones to Leeds in the summer, and he scored the winner with a great header. We taunted the Leeds fans will chants of ''You've bought the wrong one!" over and over again.

Sadly, time would tell that they hadn't bought the wrong one. We'd lost one of the finest strikers ever to pull on a United shirt, a consummate professional very much in the mould of Jags when it came down to having the right attitude. Selling Jones was the first time United made me sick to the pit. Unfortunately it wouldn't be the last.

Cheers SB. I know, I bought the program from the Lane once :)
I would love to say my Dad missed the birth because he was at the match. Unfortunately, he was a grunter

my deepest condolences , that your dad was a grunter

you have to live with it,
I feel your pain
why couldnt he have been a mass murderer
