I agree that a lot of his delivery and general personality is very good compared to many you see at away grounds and when someone fills in for him.He is good most of the time but not sure whats gone on in recent times. As mentioned before there is no announcement of opposition team at kick off which is annoying (plus disrespectful to the opposition fans) and the lack of acknowledgment for Hecky last season and this season is poor form.
Also, what's with scheduling for the half time stuff? he seems to interview people as half time is finishing.
It’s minor stuff maybe he’s been told this is how it is? I just think we should do better than that.
I agree that a lot of his delivery and general personality is very good compared to many you see at away grounds and when someone fills in for him.
But as well as finding him cringey, which is just personal opinion, I do think he sometimes crosses a line which either makes us look tinpot or disrespectful.
I've got my own suppositions on why he did what he did on Saturday but from my very good view in the South Stand, I wouldn't have blamed Hecky if he had told him to fuck off.
Absolutely agree with this post. Gary Sinclair is way better than any of the other match day hosts at all the many away grounds I have visited.Don't get all this hate for Sinclair. He's a true Blade and bloody good at what he does. Probably the best up and down the grounds. He stood with his arms outstretched singing the GCB did he? Well, well done him, that's what I say. It's more than a lot of the soggy rice pudding headed refuseniks in the stands do, of which we have far too many.
That line combined with the GCB thing at the start makes me think his contract might be up for renewal. Maybe he thinks that was his last go at it.I stayed back to give some players a clap others a stern look. Can confirm McCall got a nice hand from a sparse SS and so did Hecky.
Garyoke’s last words of 25/26 were:
“See you next season. Hopefully…. (phnarrrr)”
I would like someone to remind him that he’s here to inform not to entertain, but so it goes.

I’d be interested to know why he has taken issue with Hecky if that is the case.I agree that a lot of his delivery and general personality is very good compared to many you see at away grounds and when someone fills in for him.

The only thing we can say for sure is that whoever follows him will be worse.I doubt he is going anywhere, we have seen the sort of crap that ends up covering for him as announcer.
Up until that episode I had no idea it was the Irish National Anthem.I’d be interested to know why he has taken issue with Hecky if that is the case.
Certainly didn’t seem to mind him when he was here, got a lot of mileage from his copy of “Rockin All Over the world” during that period….was like that that priest on Father Ted with Ghost Town by the specials.
Finding out xyz plays for them would be really useful .
As announced it was a lap of appreciation not honour.Lap of Honour ?
From our own players ?
After the shitshow of the last two matches I can't believe they had the cheek........
I can only surmise so don't want to make accusations that might not be true.I’d be interested to know why he has taken issue with Hecky if that is the case.

Sinclair is a very good announcer, okay his music choice borrowed from his grab a granny nightclub leaves a bit to be desired but look at the drop off when the stand ins do it.
A bit of both I think , definitely to inform but also to entertain , I think he probably one of the best match announcers aroundI stayed back to give some players a clap others a stern look. Can confirm McCall got a nice hand from a sparse SS and so did Hecky.

Incessant. Keep the whole thing to a factual minimum. Then the crowd can build the atmosphere to kick off, brought to you by Mascot Workwear.

Was the DJ at Blue Bell in Hackenthorpe back when the Bradshaws ran it, went to City with Carl.We moan at absolutely everything nowadays
He's annoying, but he's very good at what he does.
Hecky did an amazing jobI quite like having a bit of personality doing our announcements but I hope he didn’t disrespect Hecky.
Hecky did a good job for us when we really needed him to pull it out the bag. He was also thrown under the bus in the most ridiculous circumstances after he got us up.
He deserves nowt but respect.
I’d like Knowsnowt to have a go - in-fact rotate the job amongst this forums posters .I don’t mind Gary really.
I think his successor will be the Fan Zone host who seems to do a decent job.
Happy days playing for the Blue Bell - bless Heather and Johnny BWas the DJ at Blue Bell in Hackenthorpe back when the Bradshaws ran it, went to City with Carl.
Given that we now have American owners, I highly doubt they would agree that a stadium announcer isn't there to entertain.A bit of both I think , definitely to inform but also to entertain , I think he probably one of the best match announcers around
The comment ,"see you next season,,,,,,,,,,,,, hopefully"
Reminded me of a similar comment a friend of mine related couple of weeks ago , he a ground hopper so I not sure which ground he was at , the ref just about to start the game the announced says
" Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls ,,,,,, enjoy the game ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, if you can "

He doesnt entertain .... he's another dinosaur that needs replacing!I stayed back to give some players a clap others a stern look. Can confirm McCall got a nice hand from a sparse SS and so did Hecky.

With good reason, seen as how Wilder was beavering away in the background trying to get ‘his’ job back, just like he was when Selles was here. It's no secret there's not much love between Hecky and Chris these days. Maybe he thought it would curry favour with a few.
I beg to differ. He's there to inform AND entertain!I would like someone to remind him that he’s here to inform not to entertain, but so it goes.
