Anyone else notice what he did at the start of the game yesterday?

Apart from personally finding it ridiculous and egotistical that the matchday compere is stood yards inside the pitch at kick off with his arms outstretched singing the GCB, the fact he stepped yards to the left, turned and faced Hecky with a stupid grin, then walked behind him was utterly pathetic and cringeworthy imho.

Wasn't there yesterday, did Hecky and McCall get a good reception from our fans?

There wasn't many left in the South Stand at the end of the game. Hecky had been over to the PNE fans to acknowledge them and when he went down the tunnel there was applause from those left in the South stand.

It may have been more than our manager received by the time he'd reached the tunnel.

So he was in some way trying to wind up Hecky? Or he was grinning with adoration?

Don't get all this hate for Sinclair. He's a true Blade and bloody good at what he does. Probably the best up and down the grounds. He stood with his arms outstretched singing the GCB did he? Well, well done him, that's what I say. It's more than a lot of the soggy rice pudding headed refuseniks in the stands do, of which we have far too many.

My perception was goading. He doesn't normally do that in front of the opposition manager.

Or maybe he was hoping Hecky would acknowledge him. Either way it looked pathetic and unprofessional from my vantage point.

Might be a generational thing but I’ve had my fill of him. Hearing the difference in tone between the Sunderland announcer and Gareoke at Wembley last year really stood out.

Sinclair sounded like a mobile disco dj, the other fella seemed to do a better job with the atmosphere/occasion.

Didnt see it but even if I had...it would not be the biggest concern. Looked very much like a team and manager who have lost the fan-base. Worried? You bet I am but not about the antics or otherwise of our stadium announcer.

There is now almost as big a disconnect between fans & team as there was at the end of Adkins's last season with the lap of dishonour.
We've come full circle.
It's the Blades way.
And if any brains had been applied since 2020 , it was so avoidable.
All we can do is suck up the incompetent waste of the fruits of our success 2016-20.
And take the edge off our pain by sharing our disappointment on here.

Seven years of PL & parachute cash.
New owners with supposedly more cash than the Prince.
The kind of potential of which we could only dream in 2016.
And trust dem Blades to contrive to be staring into the abyss.
Ultimately a seven year failure which is laughable if it weren't so painful.

And all the owners want to do is just continue shuffling along the same old Bettis & Wilder path ?
Making no changes to corporate structure , systems or oersonnel.
Exerting almost no control over this cute little old company they've bought ?

My goodness , I put more effort into stacking my dishwasher than they do into their £100m investment.

Why did they buy us ?
What research went into their purchase ?
Did they truly understand what happened 2016-20 and then 2020-24 ?

Normally you acquire a business coz you can see where changes need to be made , with the potential to add value.
Not to just leave the status quo in place.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

He is good most of the time but not sure whats gone on in recent times. As mentioned before there is no announcement of opposition team at kick off which is annoying (plus disrespectful to the opposition fans) and the lack of acknowledgment for Hecky last season and this season is poor form.

Also, what's with scheduling for the half time stuff? he seems to interview people as half time is finishing.

It’s minor stuff maybe he’s been told this is how it is? I just think we should do better than that.

Yes this is a pain, and ridiculously petty. It's handy for us to know about the opposition players.
Finding out xyz plays for them would be really useful .

I am sure someone said on here or on social media that he has been told to do that. I am not sure if that is true or not.

It gets announced 30 mins before kick off. 🤷‍♂️

I quite like having a bit of personality doing our announcements but I hope he didn’t disrespect Hecky.

Hecky did a good job for us when we really needed him to pull it out the bag. He was also thrown under the bus in the most ridiculous circumstances after he got us up.

He deserves nowt but respect.

I stayed back to give some players a clap others a stern look. Can confirm McCall got a nice hand from a sparse SS and so did Hecky.

Garyoke’s last words of 25/26 were:

“See you next season. Hopefully…. (phnarrrr)”

I would like someone to remind him that he’s here to inform not to entertain, but so it goes.

Well at least he’s adopting the same standards as the first team and the coaching staff.

Can’t stand Sinclair. Prized bell end and general embarrassment.
Most clubs want to reduce the loudmouth gibshite lads lads lads culture and make games more welcoming for families. But for some reason we’ve gone the other way and picked out 2 of the biggest gobshites and made one the stadium announcer and the other the first team manager.

But a portion of our fanbase and mentally still in the 80s and love it, then sit around wondering why there’s no progression…
