Agreed, any game I have every played whether it be Sunday morning or 5 aside. I would have stuck my hands up and said it hit my hand, practically every one would. It's the spirit of the game.

No one can complain about that decision last night, it doesn't matter if it wasn't deliberate, most fouls and offsides aren't deliberate. But a free kick is still awarded.

The reason he's a twat is because of his comment regarding that the West Ham fans, and club, are so wrong in thinking a point here would be a good thing, (after a swift acceptance that SU have had a decent start), they should be aiming for all three at grounds/clubs like this, or something alluding to that.

Didn't see it in that context. Thought he was mitigating the controversy of the goal by saying West Ham beat themselves by not having a winning mentality. Watched all the coverage after getting home from the match last night (via the pub) and was really impressed, looked like they were having a good time at BDTBL.

Agree. Saw it when I got home and he was definitely saying teams shouldn’t look at a point away as a good result. I think that established PL teams like West Ham should always come to a newly promoted team looking to win and see a point as a very far removed second prize

Sky coverage including Carra and Neville was superb last night, there I have said it.
They are not lazy pundits they understand what we do, they appreciate our club, fans, management and players, can't ask for more

In my experience, having played at various levels for 30 years, I don’t think that practically everyone in that situation would have admitted the handball. Quite the contrary actually.
That said, it was handball and the letter of the law adherence to,but still a shitty way to have a goal disallowed. Not that I give a flying fuck about West Ham by the way. I was quite delighted by it.
I also think that both Neville and Carragher were superb last night - as they are most weeks.
Only my opinion mind.

I disagree, they’re both objective and offer inside perspective on what’s happening in the clubs now compared to before. JC was critical of Liverpool in the past and GN scathing of what’s happening at Utd. Just because they care doesn’t equal bias and personally I listen to their opinions with interest.

The goal would have been ruled out without VAR (if the ref had seen it) the ball hit his arm which then gave him an unfair advantage, this situation is exactly what VAR was brought in to do.

Playing "devils advocate" - when Egan slipped it gave their man a big advantage and he was in on goal - should the game have been stopped ?
at what point does "gaining an advantage means play should be stopped ?

That's what football is about, whether its a club taking you back to their pub and putting on a decent spread in their local boozer in Sunday/ Saturday football or a Premier League club doing the equivalent, with pundits, away fans and anyone else, not turning the power sockets off or making them park 15 mins away from the ground

To be fair, I think if the ref had spotted it and called it, rather than VAR, I don't think there would be any controversy
