So handball is okay then?

"A handball occurs if any player, other than the team's goalkeeper within his own penalty area, deliberately handles the ball when in play"

That's been in the laws of the game since probably the 19th century. This year they've taken "deliberate" out only in the case of goals scored

I can't believe I'm having to explain this. I did have a couple of celebratory brandies so could have ended up in a parallel universe

Since when have players been allowed to control the ball with their hands/arms those saying the goal should have been allowed are talking utter bollocks. This is how VAR should be used not for controversial offsides, Rice controls the ball with his arm as clear as crystal you have to call a foul rules are rules even if West Ham have never played by them.

I am in full agreement. Why should any team get an advantage from a ball hitting an “illegal” part of the body? Intentional or not.

All this is wide of the mark.
The reason he's a twat is because of his comment regarding that the West Ham fans, and club, are so wrong in thinking a point here would be a good thing, (after a swift acceptance that SU have had a decent start), they should be aiming for all three at grounds/clubs like this, or something alluding to that.
Elitist twat.

Gary Neville can’t dance ! 1 mum before half time he was doing a bit of a dance !

Carragher was right in the middle of saying how we're too good for it to just be a flash in the pan. He's been praising us all season.

He was rightly saying that the new change to the handball rule has done nothing to improve the game. A point I've been making since it was introduced.

It was a correct decision according to the rules. No one's disputing that. But the game's been worse as a spectator sport this season for sodding VAR and this handball rule.

I think JC & GN are OK. They seemed shocked at out first half performance such as the standard we have set. It's up to Wilder and the players now to ensure we keep the standard up.

Love him....hey my Missis wants to have his babbies so he can’t be all bad...can he?

See, we all bemoaned the fact that man city scored a goal due to the ref giving them an unfair advantage. Tonight I see the Rice getting an unfair advantage from an unintended handball. If his hand wasn't there, it goes out of the danger zone.

The handball rule still sucks and for me should change to asking these questions:

Was it intentional?

Did they get an advantage?

Var got the right decision tonight... But not because of common sense.

I might have got it wrong here they all sound the same to me. Think it was Carra describing the handball decision as a disgrace
It was Carra that said that

But it was a disgrace. The rule is ridiculous, just like when we had one ruled out at Brighton the other week when the ball bounced up and clipped Egan's hand. However, as Carra also said, its the rule.

And not even 10 seconds before, Carra was pouring love onto how good we are.

Both Carra and Neville went to the lane last night to do a job for a TV station, but they absolutely engaged with everyone they met.

Having a laugh with the Prince, on the pads with Kell Brook, Chatting with Wilder and Bassett, meeting/ laughing/ singing with Blades fans, analysing our play and of course singing the GCB really badly at the end.

For years we've complained that pundits helicopter in, chat shit, then helicopter out without understanding our club. But I've got to say that the pair of them were brilliant.

Well said

Yep it was Carragher. The scouse accent gave it away. How was it a disgrace? The motion of the ball was diverted by Rice's hand to his advantage and was a crucial factor in the lead up to a goal. Since when was handball allowed? The rules clearly state it is not allowed! In my humble opinion the man is an idiot!
Agree the ball had momentum to go the other way.
If I’ve got to accept this shit I’ll accept one for us

Thought the coverage last night was excellent. Proper love-in. West Ham barely got a mention pre and post match.
I was thinking that afterwards, it was a complete love in and I heard Carra and Neville say how well they'd been looked after.

That's what football is about, whether its a club taking you back to their pub and putting on a decent spread in their local boozer in Sunday/ Saturday football or a Premier League club doing the equivalent, with pundits, away fans and anyone else, not turning the power sockets off or making them park 15 mins away from the ground

I don't think he was saying this as a slight on us though. West ham probably spend 10x what we do on transfer fees and wages, it's a fair enough to say they shouldn't be delighted with an away point. That rings true anywhere apart from Anfield or the Etihad. Neville praised us plenty, he was just saying that West Ham should be aiming higher
