Its actually the first bid, if indeed it was a bid. McNamara was quoted (i think in a star article) yesterday saying that we had enquired with a fee of 100,000 rather than an official bid. Perhaps this was the first official bid or perhaps it was just another toe dipping into the water....

Seen a lot of this lad, and I believe he`s a flat track bully. He`s been there a while now, lots have scouted him, no one has taken the plunge. Might be ok at our level, but not Championship standard for me (next season!!).

Plus Murphy can play up front. If we ever go 4-4-2 instead of 4-3-3 (4-5-1) then McNulty and Murphy is a very capable strike force.

I noticed the goal he got last night came from him being on the right and cutting in the space between the centre half & full back.

I believe he is equally comfortable playing on either wing and behind the striker so him coming in doesn't lead me to question Murphy's future at the club for me all it does offer is another body capable of playing various positions for the busy run in we have.

If we want him then stop effing about and put in a decent bid. The lad has obviously got talent and DUFC don't need to let him go on the cheap. Decide how much we have to spend and stick the best bid in we can, if that doesn't work walk away and concentrate on other targets. United have a habit of pissing about with derisory offers, not getting our man after a 2 or 3 week chase then running out of time to get anyone else in......hence the "we tried but we couldn't get the deal over the line, the loan window opens in a week so we will look at other options then"....comments

Yes that's what I mean. If this kid is worth £2m but we can get him for £1m now. Is that not better than waiting till 1st July to get him for free and risk losing him to someone else?

McGinn wasn't one of the players. The bid was valued at £150K with the 2 players. United have said if you want cash only we will give you £80K. I suspect we will pay £125-150K cash for the guy and he will be here for the weekend.
