Everybody knows that our max bid is £150k ;)
 
We eventually signed scougal and murphy, having initially lodged much lower bids.
It's called negotiation, we want him and will I beleive match any realistic bid; only likely to fail in our pursuit if a larger club come in for him. He apparently shares the same agent as Ryan flynn and will not doubt be fully aware of the potential at bdtbl.

Are you suggesting that when a Club comes along and offers money for one of your best players and it doesn't meet your valuation you CAN actually say NO and turn it down !!!!!
Having supported United for 50 years I always thought that it was mandatory to sell the player for 10 bob, a bag of shiny marbles and a promise of a friendly match ......... :rolleyes:

Totally agree Sothall_Blade but some take the "reported" 150k bids as fact and judge the board. So why not take this reported bid as fact :)

Lets wait and see , and keep our powder dry . Fans , media and papers are full of speculation and rumours .

It is never over until the fat lady sings , and a player signs on the dotted line.

If , and its a big if , if the signings mentioned for the lad , Brayford and Doyle , all come off , then absolutely brilliant .

Let us wait and see what Mr Clough and the board pull out of the bag , as we ain't doing too bad as we stand . Its the final push with or without signings that counts.

Only an opinion, but I don't believe we would bid £1m for a player who will be out of contract in a few months

For me it just doesn't fit what's been the norm for us despite the Princes zillions, nor does it fit in with Cloughs transfer exploits

I stand to be corrected though

Probably because he is very left footed. Mind you it is one hell of a left foot.
 
My sudden worry with him being a left footed winger is; are we replacing one with another? and funding another move with the difference?
I would be very unhappy to lose Murphy. Very. However he must have impressed desperate Hull in the Semi last season the way he left their "Premier League" right back on his arse on the way to crossing for Scougs goal and scoring himself. I don't want to lose more talent to be wasted at 'Ull.
 
Forgive me if I'm being a bit thick, but did Murphy not make his name by playing just behind the front man / front 2? I also seem to remember him being rather good on the right wing.

I'd love to see this fella and Murph on either flank with Flynaldo & Whispering Bob in a supporting role. The counter attacking potency would be lethal.
 
if that guy is not worth a decent bid, then im a scotsman. as Keef would say he has a trick or two, not easily bundled off the ball, bit of pace, knows where the goal is, and seems a capable passer of the ball.
yes seems predominantly left footed but i dont see that as a bad thing, having said that the right footed goal in the clip was a decent strike.
pull out the stops blades and start showing intent and ambition.
why not him on left and murphy on the right, switching with harris n flynn overlapping, even higgy should get enough chances with that lot creating down the flanks.
 
Agree he looks excellent but surely he's Championship standard, why us?
 
Five foot six and seven stone looks like one for us. Actually only joking! Looks to have some awesome ball skills but imagine what PNE or MKD would do to him but I would love to see.
