first whiff ?All tonight has shown is we haven’t had a proper pre-season and a minority of fans arses fall out at the first whiff of adversity.
Game over after game 1 of 46...get a fkg gripPathetic. If anyone thinks we are getting promoted they are deluded. Football is all about the midfield. Ours is shite. Norwood is a liability- we will never do anything with in CM. End of. Manager should be able to work it out.
Needs 2 or 3 new faces to sharpen things upI remember last season certain posters were complaining when people included the defeats at the end of the 19/20 as part of our current form.
That proved to be misguided, because the deficiencies shown at the end of that season were a harbinger of what was to come. It was perfectly reasonable to show that the bad form had continued across from the previous season.
I fear the same might be true again this season. It's all well and good saying all criticism at this stage is knee-jerk, but it isn't just one game, we've been bad for ages and as it stands we're using the same players. Granted, the opposition will be weaker this year but you can't just flick a switch after over a season of being terrible.
Completely and utterly agree. Zero creativity in the final third and if we are totally honest, even the Wilder fan club, will concede that's been the case for 2 years. Fleck is gone, Norwood is slower than my rabid old dog, Brewster is just white and Mousset flatters, throw in a third rate defence and this is going to be a long dreary season to watchPathetic. The players you are slagging were brought in by Wilder.......some people beggar beliefNo team with LM & OB up front is getting promoted.
No team with BO and JR in the back 4 is getting promoted.
No team with JF & ON together in MF is getting promoted.
No team whose first thought is pass it back or square is getting promoted.
No team that has no efforts on target is getting promoted.
You will see a common thread!
I cannot believe that JS picked this team, from just looking at them on the sheet you could not see how it was going to work. Uninspiring, cautious & a total lack of creativity. It looked as bad as last year.
On that showing it will be league 1 within 3 years, we looked back to Adkins days.
BRING BACK WILDER ALL IS FORGIVEN!
Blades always do best under managers with big characters, Bassett, Warnock, Wilder for example but Jokanovic just comes across as monotone, boring... I doubt he'd inspire me....
Exactly, last season I knew we were in big trouble after the home game with Fulham, last night had a lot of the ingredients of that Fulham game, the only saving grace is that there isn't the PL quality of opponent to come up against in future games.I remember last season certain posters were complaining when people included the defeats at the end of the 19/20 as part of our current form.

Get Wilder back, ehAs clear as day we have only gone backwards from how utterly crap we were last season.
Bottom 6
it isn't panic , to call out deficiencies that have been obvious for 18 months but not rectified - it's just plain & justifiable anger with the lack of signs that the rot might be stopped
We'll just have to respectfully agree to completely disagree with each other , but conjecture & banter are half the fun of fandom - we all want the same thing in the end my friend.Completely disagree.
Whether it's the same group of players or not, with the same problems, this is still a new manager, playing a new system.
The reaction after 1 game is pure comedy, but not surprising on here. It's not like we have just been pumped 5-0 and played off the park. We lost a tight game to a decent outfit.
Everyone knows we need a new CB and some creativity, so if anything, last night will have just accelerated the need to bring these in.

Totally agree. Flecks performances were very much on a par with Lundstrams insipid displays. But because he wasn’t in a contract dispute with the club. he seemed to avoid much of the criticism.Flecks been blowing hot and cold for a long time now .And mainly fucking cold.Seems to get a free ride compared to others.
Can’t win em all mate. Might be sensible to give the new manager a bit of time.oh , don't the points count in the first game ?

Aye so unless you are a British motor mouth you have no character.Thing is those players should be plenty good enough, my doubt is the manager, he's paid handsomely to make the difference and on that showing I have no idea what he's been doing?

Worrying
Dunno, I felt like I had a few of those around me as well.Think the OP is the bloke sat near me who was on half the player's backs after 10 minutes
Game over after game 1 of 46...get a fkg grip
And keeping BergeThat's encouraging, although this team looks like it will need a lot more than 2 signings to look anywhere near promotion material.
A left sided centre back, 2 midfielders, and two creative wingers/wide forwards are a must if we are going to persist with this formation.
And keeping Berge
100% accurate. Please pass onto management and get these problems fixed asap.Couple of things from yesterday. Brum had obviously seen how poor we were at defending set pieces as they sent 8 men into the box at their first free kick after a couple of minutes. Positive thinking from them and obviously not worried about how quick we may break as we were so slow at that last year and we have the same ponderous midfield. They launched any throw in in to our box which made everyone nervous. They also pushed onto our midfield and even with two fast forwards we didn't really get any quality balls to them. As others have said, we will have to get used to this tactic or alternatively teams packing the defence and relying on breaks. We seem to have no aerial threat at corners or free kicks. I would hope we would have some ideas at both but when our kickers can't put a ball in properly it doesn't look good. Let's hope it was a lack of match play that we were so poor. The interminable passing across the back was painful at times even when Baldock was stood in loads of space out on the South Stand touchline.
