I think it's very difficult to look past him as potentially our greatest ever manager. If he keeps us up there will be absolutely no question.
 
Already a legend but if we stay up he will have surpassed the feat of ANY manager of our lifetime

He's already the BOAT: best of all time. He's still working on Goat status imo. This assessment is purely based on the post war history of the club.

For me he was already above Warnock when he got us out of League One at the first time of asking. The Warnock years were fun and we had such an identity but this is something else.

I started going to games in '97. Nobody in my time has beaten what Wilder has achieved and definitely not by playing such good quality football.

Warnock gave us some good times and got us to the Prem, but Wilder rescued us from League One and has taken us back up there. Already done more than Warnock in half the time.

If Wilder keeps us up there he'll be on a different level to anything in my time as a Blade.
 
I enjoyed the Warnock years immensely but you couldn’t shake the knowledge that he was at the end of the day, a bit of a nob.

Wilder on the other hand is always a credit to the club and fans and you are proud to call him our manager. Not something I could always say about Colin...
 
Wilder in my eyes is the best manager ever in SUFC history

Not belittling what John Harris did by any means but the difference between the haves and have nots then was of a different magnitude. Wilder keeping us up next year is equivalent to a top four finish back then arguably

Money wise yes. But the big six still had most of the quality players.
 
I don't for one second expect this to happen but there's a high percentage of managers who don't survive beyond 18 months of promotion to the Prem, particularly if they go back down. Obviously that is partly down to owners and fan pressure which shouldn't come into play barring a major disaster. All the more reason for the ownership issue to get sorted as well.

For me, it's not just the promotions, it's the way the club as a whole has been galvanised under him and I've never known it like this in my lifetime. There were factions under Warnock and even under Bassett but it really is everyone pulling in the same direction at the moment. Can he keep pulling out rabbits, how will our style play out next season, who knows but at least we know we won't fail due to lack of effort, planning etc etc

It doesn't feel right for a manager of 3 years being called the best ever but you can't underestimate the achievements and the circumstances thus far.
 
Let 'em continue to doubt the wisdom of appointing a pub league manager. Success is, of course, relative, but by any standards Chris Wilder's rise is little short of phenomenal. I have a sneaking suspicion that when we begin our campaign in the Premiership we'll see the Blades grow into their new environment far quicker than even they had imagined.

Me? I'll be keeping an eye on the points column, and received wisdom suggests that we'll need around 40 points to guarantee safety. Should we manage this, I'll be as happy as Larry. My thoughts will turn to the following season and will repeat the time honoured act of wondering who we'll sign.......but that's a long way off. I'm looking forward to seeing how we cope, how we might have to adjust (should that be necessary), and most intriguingly, how we'll compete against some of the best players in Europe, possibly the world.

Let's show the world that we're in the Premiership due to hard work and talent. Luck played no part in our rise, and now our time has come, so let's make sure that apart from the team, that the supporters act like the legendary 12th man. The Lane can be an incredible place to be when we choose to make the effort, so no excuses, if it takes that 12th man to push the team over the line, the answer's in our own hands.

I could continue, but self-evident truths are just that. We have so much to look forward to, let's give Wilder and his players every ounce of support we can muster, otherwise what's the point of parting with your hard earned readies? One final thought, I've no doubt we'll lose, possibly heavily at times, but this will be the steep learning curve that comes with membership of the Premiership. The key will be just how quickly Wilder and company learn these lessons. Seasoned Prem managers continue to face tough defeats, so please, let's not get carried away with that amusing but often unhelpful art-form known as armchair management. The key to our continued success will be stability, not chopping and changing for the sake of it. We're fortunate to have Wilder and Knill at our helm, let's make sure our relationship continues for the foreseeable future. UTMB!
