Those players who have never played for us, but you just know one day they will. Players in this mould in the past include Darius Henderson and Lee Williamson...

I'll start with:

Nigel Quashie - I can see this one in the next couple of years. Workmanlike central midfielder with a poor touch and coming to the end of his career.

Kevin Davies.

Kevin Davies, Kyle Naughton, Sam Volkes.

Alan Shearer as manager. That's not a reaction to the recent rumour more of a general feeling that I seem to get when he speaks about us, he seems to actually hold us in high regard for some reason.

Do you mean Lee Williamson? Danny never played for us

Blah, feckin pedants.

Alan Smith, in a few years when he's well knacked.
Jags.
Andy Reid, when he's finally the same shape as a Mr. Man.

Cresswell was one that I knew would come to us

Tevez!

Lee McCulloch alongside Morgs

Tudgay :)

Danny Murphy, as he climbs down the leagues and ends up at Southport

then he'll end up at Tranmere as Manager

I remember calling Chris Luckett in about 2001! "Chris is a great lad and was my captain at Huddersfield". I also remember thinking we'd sign Jon Stead when we were promoted, and maybe Beattie if we stayed up(!).

Out of the current crop: Jonathon Walters, Robert Earnshaw, David Kitson.

Lescott apparently failed a fitness test with us and the board wouldn't throw 2 million at him.

I'd like for anyone to show a quote showing he said this.

There was the rumour his uncle was a 'blade' or something.

I know people diss Wikipedia but I do remember reading this in an interview with him

"As a boy, Verón dreamed of playing for English club Sheffield United, as his uncle, Pedro Verde, played for the club at the time. "

I imagine that 30+years on this may not be the case!

Not a tough one to find...

Juan Sebastian Veron is not the first member of his family to play for an English league team. OSM can reveal that Pedro Verde - a skilful but somewhat lightweight striker who played for Sheffield United between 1978 and 1981 - is in fact Veron's uncle.

'As far as I'm aware, no one has ever known about this,' Veron told OSM, 'but my uncle Pedro played for Sheffield United. He used to play with my dad at Estudiantes and through my dad got to know my mum, and her sister. And eventually he and mum's sister got married. My uncle and aunt then spent two years living in Sheffield. So there I was hoping to play for Sheffield United and here I am at Manchester United!'
