We are where we are through hard work and honest graft.
Am I proud of how we did it? Damn right I am, and no Fulham, Man U, Man City, Wolves or anyone else can lay claim to that in recent times.

We have harked back to the old days in many respects. And I love it. Fulham chucking money at it can please themselves and I hope it goes tits up for them. Especially as they are blowing huge amounts on the kind of risks we took last season at compared to them a fraction of the cost. And I dare say their scatttergun approach to transfers and squad building may well see them make the same mistakes again.

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, I think they have recognized their failings. Now they're acquiring UK players (from under the noses of competing rivals i.e. us) with much improved personal terms, will it work, dunno. Probably.

They had George Best and Bobby Moore in the 70s and still ride off that to this day.

Other clubs have managed to make memries in that time, even Sheffield United.

If Fulham the club were anywhere else in the country they’d be about as appealing as Barnsley. They are in a clutch of smaller (very fortunate) London clubs like QPR, Palace, Charlton and Brentford who will always attract more investors than us, simply because they’re based within the M25.

As I posted in another thread, I'd think we would beat Burnley to a player now if we both we're in for them, but outside of those I think we're below everyone else.

That's an improvement of one spot from the start of last season so maybe Old Kent Road is harsh, we're more The Angel, Islington which is quite nice actually.

I'd have Leeds as Pall Mall with Fulham maybe pushing Bow Street territory.
