If it wasn't for O'Hare, Peck and Campbell we'd be worse than Wednesday imo.
Remind us all who signed O'Hare, Campbell, Burrows, Souttar and Cooper..

Oooooh, the worst thing about losing nowadays is threads like this. Some of you can..not..wait!!
We lost by one goal, away from home against a top 10 team.
What do you want to apologise for??
We blew it, it happens. We're on a ONE match losing streak, and these Wilder haters get to annihilate the club for another few days now

The most goals EVER scored by an away side in a Sheffield derby.
Silence when we win, starts thread when we lose, nobWill you own it?
Shouldn’t be near first team . FFSThought he was goosed after 30 mins
If you have to descend to the gutter level of chucking insults around, you could at least spell them correctly.Silence when we win, starts thread when we lose, nob
I would say its probably doubtful that he could. If you have to descend to the gutter level of chucking insults around, you could at least spell them correctly.
We are far from united as a fanbase, and we won’t be until we eventually get a manager who everyone rallies around.
Imagine the grief if we had won 1-0.I'm really struggling with this thread.
Have we not just won 2 games of football in six days, narrowly missing out on at least a point from the third game.
Scoring six goals in the process.
Maybe Bettis has also learnt a lesson in that Chris Wilder is the clubs best option, as opposed to a number of other disasters we've tried.Several points :
Prior to wilder being re-appointrd, it was stated from the owner's that a DOF would be appointed as well as a new manager. Why has this not happened? Maybe it because of the close relationship between wilder and bettiis who realises that chris wilder does not want a DOF to interfere with his control?
The public comments from Stephen Bettis ( more than once) regarding Mcburnie wanting to join United in the summer and stating that Ruben Selles prevented this, then wilder confirming recently that he thinks Mcburnie should be at the club is in my view criticism of Selles and support for wilder.
Finally, with Bettis stating that he is on the board and has a say on all matter's, it is obvious that, much to my disappointment, wilder will probably have preferential treatment to a manager with no connections? In my opinion, this is not healthy or beneficial to the future of the club, or more importantl, the supporters!

Or Marsh who must deserve a chance sometime soon. One criticism of wilder. Cannon is crap why not give Ryan one a chance
It was at Hillsborough not Bramall lane 3-7Not to mention the time we put 7 past them, though pig history seems lacking for that year.

Remembering Sheffield United's remarkable 7-3 hammering of Sheffield Wednesday, on this day in 1951
It’s been 71 years since Sheffield United stuck seven goals past their bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday in one of the most remarkable results in their long and illustrious history.www.thestar.co.uk

Sorry Sean i got it wrong! I was only 4 at the time !It was at BL. September 1951.
Balham for director of football and Bergen Blade for first team coach. One thing that has always cheered me up, when the United hierarchy need to find another manager, they’ll only have to look at this board because there are absolutely hundreds here….
Their only problem will be finding out which one has the brain cell.
Wow got that wrong as well ! had a senior moment ! I was 6 ! I may have been at the match i used to go with my dad . I doubt it though as there was fifty thousand there i dont think he would have risked taking me.As we know big crowds for nippers wasnt a wise thing to do.Sorry Sean i got it wrong! I was only 4 at the time !

Appreciate your comments T B, but basically at the present time Wilder has got pretty much a free reign over what he wants, transfers in and out etc. Surely this cannot be beneficial to the club, because everyone knows (apart from the new owners) of wilder and his previous massive failures with large transer signings, particularly strikers. Taking into account that after Selles was relieved of his duties, the owners stated that they wanted to recruit a new manager and a director of football. It is blatantly obvious that this has not transpired due to the fact that bettis ( who unfortunately is now on the board) and wilder have such a cosy relationship (totally unhealthy for the club) that wilder told his pal he would not come back under the control of a DOF. IGreat idea, who will we appoint as DOF Grbic, Selles, Jokanovich?
Whover would be appointed would just get slated every game we didn't win or play 'attractive' enough football.
Barnsley FC have a DOF and billionaire owners, how has that helped them recently?
There have been a few managers the fans have united behind, including Wilder Mk1. It will happen again, but not for quite a while yet. That's never going to happen given my post above.
No manager will ever be good enough.

Yes, exactly this. By bringing him back for a 3rd time we’ve just prolonged the pain we are going to have to go through.I expected us to burn through a few managers post Wilder as it was obvious whoever came in after would struggle to unite the fans. Now he's back, it's going to be years before everyone is on the same page again.

The only way I can see this ending as a success is if we build a modern club around Wilder. However, Wilder being the control freak he is makes that a vanishingly small prospect.I completely understand the logic in bringing him back. The majority love him, the board got incredible stick for sacking him and I presume they thought he'd just immediately start getting us up the table because he knew so many of the players. It does feel like it's likely to cause more issues down the line though. Unless the club changes off the pitch we are just going to go to shit again the moment he leaves.
