saying we are 60 mill in debt is like me saying you are 150000 in debt when buying a house with a mortgage

A mortgage is a debt, of course it is. What else is it? Try selling your house without covering the debt that you owe to the mortgage lender, see how that goes. And if your house is worth a fraction of your mortgage like the mortgage levels like ours with regards to the value of the Club, you've got problems.

yes its a debt , but one you live with , man utd have debts beyond comprehension to normal business, our debt is like when clubs move to a new ground , rotherham will be paying for their stadium for some time , but non of their fans are running round like headless chickens saying look at our debt

Wasn't it a sliding scale depending on how many goals he had scored and how the argument suited? Anywhere between 3 magic beans and the third world debt combined?

If it was 'how many times he scored' would some of those have to be classed as off-side?

Think I understand this. :confused:

Isn't this the same debt that our board uses to justify not putting more money into the team? Oh yes, it is.

The incomparable Charlie Dickens, as ever, puts it best:

My other piece of advice, Copperfield, said Mr. Micawber, you know. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, and, in short, you are for ever floored. As I am!

Ok, on the mortgage analogy;

House value £100k. Mortgage £300k. Salary £50k pa. Bills and outgoings £100k. That's United.

Our debt is not like when clubs move to a new ground, because we haven't moved to a new ground. We've got it because we earn £10M and spend £20M while standing still.

Standing still would have seen us near the bottom of the Prem. Think we've gone backwards somewhat?

We've been treading water and cutting our speedos to size while the likes of Yeovil, Brentford, Crawley and possbily Rotherham have swum past us.

How would standing still leaver us in the prem , we went up we didnt have the clout to compete , even then our natural level was around 5/6th in the championship for a decade, we got up but needed more ploughing in than mccabe , on his own put in, wew needed what west brom stoke norwich have ,3 or 4 investors spreading the load, you cant rely on one man unless hes a football nut like Whelan at wigan
To say our level is the prem is sewtting the bar way way too high, 1 season in the lasat 20 is not enough to say we belong there

We have to accept we are playing one level below where we should be , not 2, if , nay , when we return to the prem we will be batting above our average
