We're not THAT bad are we?

We're not THAT bad at the moment, but let's take a realistic view on things. Personally, I don't believe that we're good enough to reach the Play Offs, nor do I think (should we miraciously finish inside the top six) we would win them. There are better sides out there, with better managers. Blackwell proved it at Leeds and last season, he just doesn't do the big matches. He fielded a 4-5-1 vs Watford for Leeds at Cardiff ... they got hammered 3-0. We fielded 4-5-1 against Burney, and should have been hammered 3-0. Who plays 4-5-1 in a final? I think he's a decent manager, but he's not the man to create miracles.

Let's face it, there are far better teams in the league. We won't finish in the Play Offs, it's only a matter of time before we reasses our budget. The wages some of the players are on are Premiership wages... these players will have to leave. We'll bring in poorer players, players not capable of playing to the same level that we're at now. Crowds will fall once more, meaning less income for the club, meaning we can't afford largeish transfer fees or wages. Don't let us forget that five years is a long time in football. We're a big club for this division - Leeds were massive in any league. Look at their 3 year fall from CL semi final, to relegation, 12 months from Play Off final to relegation to League One.

I honestly don't see us having a very bright intermediate future. A strong youth policy, with some freak of nature gifted players (and being able to hold onto them) are the only way I can see us ever progressing into a Premiership club. Warnock shouldn't have gone.

I work inside of football, and have worked at Leeds before, I now work at a London top flight club, despite my heart always being in Sheffield. I know the game inside out, and keep close enough tabs on the situation at Leeds (as I still have a lot of friends there) and know that under Simon Grayson, and teh support they have, as well as being a huge club anyway, that they'll someday return to the hierachy of English football.

I'm no fan of Leeds, and despise Bates, he royally screwed me and my family over, and if one was to dig hard enough, my identity would for sure be revealed (although I would prefer not, Bates' cronnies would no doubt get wind of this and sue for libel damages, or something like that, he loves a day in court does Ken), I have a lot of friends at Leeds whom I keep in contact with, players, backroom staff etc, for them, I'd love to see Leeds promoted. The fans, or the club, I'm not a big fan of, but they'll rise again, unfortunately, just like Newcastle will.
