On January 2nd 2017, we travelled to Bury for our 3-1 victory on what was sadly our last match at Gigg Lane. Today we're travelling to the world/European champions whilst Bury have been expelled from the football league and are on the brink of being wound up. Yes, we're having the best of times but for football to flourish we need the likes of Bury to be able to survive.

That was a great day out. Really started to believe after that win. Can't get a ticket for tonight but seemed to get one easily for that one.

I thought this was going to compare our diabolical performance there under Atkins the season before, which I had the pleasure of attending.
True though that fortunes can change quickly.

The one where DCL was lucky to make it to HT before being subbed and we agreed he’d never make it as a footballer......

I drove past Gigg Lane a few weeks back and on Bury New Road there’s still the sign which reads “Next Home Match:” and the bit underneath is empty, which was very sad to see.
