Friday should not be Peter Sellers last chance.

i wonder if oxford could be his final game. mainly because im starting think im a jinx. with last 2 competitive away games ive seen away from bramall lane have been the managers final game

Burnley - 5-0 - Heckingbottom's Final game
Sunderland - 2-1 - Wilder's Final Game
Oxford - Selles Final game????

With the 33 new signings he MUST be allowed at least another 10 games to gell the side.

Viva el president Sellers. ❤️
Kind of agree - I've been pleading for patience - but maybe all a bit pointless now if he's already lost the apparent popularity contest.

To be reet, many of your contributions qualify for 'single post tragedy'.

What's Uncle Susan up to this morning?

I think more accurately we should be asking who is Uncle Susan up to.

As for the original post, I completely disagree. However it was far too early for Knowsnowt to post and not of his usual 2.00 am eccentric style so I reckon his account has been hacked (Again)

Selles Out.

It really does depend on the performance for me. If we manage to give Ipswich a game and can see a notable improvement in our play, I can just about live with another defeat (It is Ipswich after all). But if we witness the same insipid, spineless shite we’ve seen in the previous five games…I would sack Seles before he gets out of Suffolk.

I'm getting the vibe, not just because of rumours, more because of the demeanor of the players, that Ruben has lost the dressing room. Once that happens it's very difficult to turn it around and the only thing that would save him is if his new signings are influential enough to sway opinion. Players like Mee, Ings etc will have known what's what as they've been training with us prior to signing.

I'd imagine both Mee and Ings would command a lot of respect in the dresser because of their careers - majority spent in the PL and Ben Mee is particular comes across as a model professional. It remains to be seen if they can make a difference.

Selles can be the best manager in the world but if he's lost the dressing room and their is widespread discontent, he's finished.

This is the issue (well one of many) with the modern game. Players get paid more than the manager, have big egos and are usually the last resort for getting the boot when things aren't going right. If a player isn't giving 100% then they should not be getting paid their full wage, simple as that.

I would agree with you but the amount of new faces in that dressing room should buy him a bit of time as I can only see GK and LB as the 2 positions that he can't use new players in?

Key players left from last season ( have I forgotten anyone?)

Cooper- seems quite chilled out and probably less effected by weird changes in formation etc
Burrows- doesnt seem the same and is clearly out best left back so probably needs to be on board.
Hamer- probably would have left this summer if things were that bad
O'Hare- probably is the player who should benefit most from the style we seem to be trying to play (also feels like not get a start in the short term)
Peck- hopefully knuckles down after his experience with Under 21s. big performances this season can only see his stock go up. better support around him in CM should allow him to do that
Brooks- probably dropped down the pecking order with the new arrivals
Campbell- still main striker but now has a bit of competition, if chances start getting created, he should put them away and surely he is then happy.

We have to win at Ipswich if he’s going to stay in the job. They’re 3 points above us in 20th position and on a -1 goal difference. He’s had the international break to integrate the new signings plus the time Mee and Ings have been training with us. If he’s going to make a go of things, it has to start tomorrow night

I think, if the rumours were true, Robinson was potentially the biggest disruption. Club captain, probably held a lot of sway in the dressing room. Was clearly very 'buddy buddy' with Wilder too so I doubt he was happy in that respect, so anyone who came in would probably be starting below 0.

Obviously I have no proof and I'm drawing this theory purely from what I've heard, but some of the behaviour I've witnessed from Robinson like when he had a pop at our fans, does stoke the fire for me.
