Friday nights Ref = Keith Stroud.

The Football League have appointed Keith Stroud as Referee for Friday nights game against Notts County.

The last blades game he was in charge of was the 2-2 draw against Brentford at The Lane towards the end of last season. In that game he sent Maguire off for us and two of their players off. 9 Yellows and 3 Reds in total in that game.

Stroud was ref for the same fixture last year in the JPT when we licked them 4-1 at County but he only issued 3 yellows in the whole game in that one.

In the Brentford game he booked both goalkeepers within a minute of each other. This must be a record. (theirs for timewasting (in a game they had to win!!) and Long for the penalty).

Moore was the first booking of the game after 22 minutes with the score at 0- 0. This set the tone for his entire repertoire of incompetence. I remember looking round at other people in amazement and this was for a booking of an opposition player !

I resolve not to get wound up by the referees that turn up at the Lane this season .......................

Sod all to do with the ref that we drew 2-2 in that match. His bizarre decisions that night did us a lot more favours than Brentford.

When we went 2-1 up we absolutely imploded with shock and had absolutely no idea what to do with the ball or how to see the game out.

We were fortunate not to lose.
