Free Season Tickets

Which. Statistically we are not... but hey ho.

Yes the season is a joke and we haven't wven been able to maintain any sort of competitive nature. Nobody can argue the fact that it simply hasn't been good enough on the pitch, it has beem simply awful.

What you can easily argue however is the lack of business sense in your demand for some sort of refund / free season ticket. It makes zero sense and is never in a million years going to happen! I too am a season ticket holder and I understand what I am paying for and what I should expect for my payment, which ultimately is 38 games of Premier League football. The level of performance and what we achieve from said games is a complete gamble on my part.

Sooo in terms of season ticket expenditure, yes we should completely sit back and accept it. In terms of being a football fan, it is hard to accept substandard performances yes.
whether statistically correct or not that is the the perception and what is being portrayed in the media - that is my point. Talk about apathy, it’s supporters like you who are happy to ‘sit back and accept it’ is exactly why the club can get away treating the people that love them like shit. Would giving out free season tickets make business sense? Of course it bloody wouldn’t and I never said, or alluded to the fact that it would. I was merely fantasising what a good way it may be to compensate this debacle of a season to our loyal supporters. Obviously being a clapper you would never agree.

So free season tickets for the fans, and the players have to hand all their wages back.

I can see the makings of a good business model there.

I'm getting my season ticket. I support the club not the current regime and I don't blame the players for being outclassed. If you don't renew fine but don't whine to me about how bad it is. My first match was 1970ish. I have hated this season but don't pretend if you've been watching us a while that this is the worst team we've ever had. As to whether the team cares I suspect they do, they're just mentally shot. I know how they feel. Renew don't renew its a free country. You can be angry with good reason but God some of the crybabies on here.

I will give you a lift to match if you can organise free beer and lap dances on the kop mate! Bring back the bladettes for the pub league eh.
Best thrill I had was when this lass walked down row AA and grabbed each bloke’s willy that she walked past. You should have seen smile on this old guys face near me. 😁
That’s sexual harassment, hope you told the stewards.

No I'm just old enough to be past tantrums and flouncing off into the distance. Everybody knows what's gone wrong this season nobody is clapping. The Prince is going to sell the club because I don't renew my season ticket? Maybe, maybe a prospective buyer looks at the loyalty of the fanbase and buys the club because I do. Both seem equally unlikely. We all have a breaking point as fans, I just haven't hit mine yet.I still have hope for a decent championship season next year. I think the general mood at the moment is resignation to our fate. Most fans react like the commenters on here, in the moment, then they sit down, calm down and renew. Those who don't I don't blame or judge. The premier league for struggling teams is a frustrating place, Diving, var, poor if not actually bent referees, the fact that Arsenal's reserve full back cost more than our entire team. Season tickets will need to remain competitively priced. We need to finish the season salvaging at least a little pride both will help encourage supporters to renew. I am, if you are not fine. I actually agree with many of your points, although I think the goalkeeper needs to be seen behind even a half decent defence. Wes had become a liability because of how bad his distribution had become. One question and I know you haven't said you weren't, Are you going to renew your season ticket. Have you reached your breaking point? OK that's two questions.

Ben going since late 60s, and agree this is as bad as I've seen, certainly since Adkins at least, players look like they're not coached properly, don't know what their role is etc, worst team, worst management team and worst medical staff (injuries) we've had imo

The running down of the contracts, which moron gave him this advice, what player is putting his body on the line knowing he won't get a club in the summer if he got injured..

What was his quote "they try harder to get a new deal" I bet most of them have deals ready to go at other clubs on more money, and those clubs have probably said subject to being fit..

File it in the bin with “you get better value on transfers right of the end of the window [when you are already looking a mess / certs for relegation].”

Now, THAT is entertainment!
Unfortunately I'm on Row MM but I'm willing to get on the waiting list for AA if this become the norm.
Just goes to prove that the club can always do a bit more regarding offering additional value for money with a little entrepreneurism!
Maybe stick this idea in the suggestion box, pal?

I have little choice but only to renew. I have a 15 year old lad that wants to go regardless. In fact there are a group of us with kids all roughly the same age. Like many other blades we have our own pre match ritual, a few beers, food and games for the kids, and plenty of banter. How do you extricate yourself from all of that? Pretty difficult. Nope I’m in whether I like it or not! Actually looking to next season isn’t the issue as we might win one or two and regain some dignity it’s just the humiliation this season that is difficult to stomach.

Free Season Tickets ... £50 quid a time to leave early!

Someone needs to suggest to them having a suggestion box first mate. They never thought of that.

Had a season ticket for 42 years. I’m not attending any more matches this season and not renewing next season. If the Board and players don’t give a monkeys chuff, why should I fucking subsidise them? My piss was boiling last night thinking of these wasters getting into their Mercs, Audis and BMW’s probably not even bothered about the lack of effort they show. Always said, I’ve never minded losing if the effort is there. nothing wrong with that. If they go down fighting, no shame in that. But this lot? Arseholes to a man.
Hmmmm
If that’s the reasoning behind not renewing for next season how the fuck have you managed to last from 1982 until now ?!?!?! 😉

Aye
Because there’ll be a multitude of other clubs queuing up to sign em (on increased wages) after watching em this season 🤔

Aww thanks that makes me feel a lot better, it was my first ever time as Chardonnay in public I was so nervous , I usually only dress as her at home , but so glad you enjoyed it and the fact you couldn't tell gives me confidence to dress as her more often ,

It's the Sheffield "owt for nowt" mentality and demonstrates why we can't find a buyer/ investor.

Regards acquiring investment, imagine anyone competent will do their home work.
If this thread is representative of the fanbase then they'll run a mile.

If a new owner came a long with massive ambition seriously try to have us challenge for Europe. Guess what?

They would pump 100's of millions into the club, increasing prices across the board.
Then you would have 1000's in our fan base complaining, saying the club has been spoilt
It's become fancy, with big name players and it's not Sheff Utd anymore.

The new owner might have massive ambition but our fanbase wouldn't be able to match it or even feel comfortable with it.

Why? Every club needs all kinds of supporters and especially needs to generate new followers willing to spend their money
Agreed and although it's dissapointing that we will be relegated way before the season has ended, next season will see the opportunity for some fans to get the season ticket that they couldn't get for this season.

I will be there next season and expecting to enjoy the day out more than we do now 👍

They may be emboldened to invest by the Bigger Blades though………

I got a text from my dad last night saying he wouldn’t be renewing, I was going to renew just to save mine and the kids seats but there’s not much point if he’s not keeping his. That’s 5 that won’t be renewed with my nephew as well.
Oh no, not your nephew as well. Please say this isn't true.

It's ok, I know 5 people who will be getting their first season tickets for next season, so that cancels the aforementioned loss of 5. Oh and also my great Aunt Maureen is very keen. I'll keep everyone posted on this.

I think this season is the highest recorded for season ticket sales. Therefore as a fan base we committed but the Prince has clearly not and now look at the state of us! A laughing stock, embarrassment, debacle are all describing words of our team/club this season. The signings have been abysmal. Look at the latest one Garbage sorry I meant Grbic has he actually made a save since being at the club? Wilder’s decision making by putting him straight in as number 1 before he had even cleared passport control is an awful decision. Immediately alienating Wes and by all accounts this bring one of the reasons there is infighting behind the scenes. This was always going to be the case with Wilder. Head scratching decision making, stubborn, and carrying old grudges (see Archer) there’s just too much baggage with him we should have stayed well clear. If however the Prince is adamant that Wilder is the answer then in my opinion he should have let the season take its natural course with Hecky and then brought Wilder back after relegation so that he could lead us back to the promise land next season. As it is now people are already looking towards next season and wondering if Wilder is the right man to do that job. All in all the responsibility lays squarely at the feet of the Prince. Rightly or wrongly the reappointment of Wilder, lack of investment, and unrealistic valuations of the club to complete the sale of. The least he could do to try and placate our incredible supporters is offer free season tickets to all current season ticket holders for next season. Thoughts?
How has Wilder acquired an old grudge with Archer? Am I missing something? Was the ghost goal at Villa really Archers fault ? Was he a ball ball behind the goal in 2020? Was he pissing about with the high end tech that never fails in the goalmouth when nobody was looking?

That’s a 10 year old who has completely got fed up with football this season because of the piss poor attempt made by our owner at being competitive, that’s the age when most kids really get into football.

This season, for the first time ever, I've left a game at half time. (Villa)

This season, for the first time ever, I couldn't be bothered going to a game that I could have go to, because the Monday night transport options were rubbish and I had something else I could do instead. (Arsenal)

I have little enthusiasm for the rest of this season because I know, and have known all along, that our players aren't good enough to compete in the Premier League. I said this back in August. I never thought we were in with a chance of avoiding relegation and I knew that this season would be a hard slog, although it's turned out a lot harder than even I anticipated.

Despite this, I will probably not miss anymore home games and may even do a couple of aways too.

Will I renew my season ticket? Too damn right I will.

I can't wait for August and the start of a new season in which I fully expect us to be competing at the top end.

Will I be upset if we don't get promoted? Will I buggery, I may be a bit disappointed but I'll just renew my season ticket and look forward to August and the start of the next season.
