Would be an absolutely disastrous appointment. Massive backing at Derby and flopped big time. Free hit at Chelsea due to the transfer ban and achieved par. As soon as the pressure was on the following season flopped badly again despite incredible backing. May as well take a punt on a no mark from down the pyramid or give it someone on the Kop. They couldn't do much worse, and will be a hell of a lot cheaper.

If I was a chairman of any other club in the championship I'd pick Wilder over Howe or Lampard every time.
Been successful at more clubs than Howe, who also had far more resources to get Bournemouth to the prem.
Likewise Lampard heavily backed by Derby but Wilder did better. Did OK but no better at Chelsea and his replacement is already showing he was not that good a manager.
