Started on viewpoints way back, BU, Unitedite, BoM and here. More of a lurker than a poster these days though as I'm usually all out of sarcasm by the time I get home from work.

This is a great site with usually good hearted debates rather than "FUUUUUUUUU" type arguments.

I used to 'lurk' on BladesUnited until April 1st 2001 when I decided to register and as I was that ecstatic with the 1-2 Hillsborough triumph that I thought I would honour the hero of hillsborough with the username 'Deadly D'Jaffo'. I was 15 at the time and listened to a lot of So Solid Crew which might explain 'Deadly'.

I really enjoyed BU and have had the pleasure of meeting some good people from the forums over the years. To summarise;

-Got annoyed with Puppet & subscribed him to loads of porn
-Threatened Webbo
-Sold a telly to BrownieBlade
-Raul tried grooming me
-Rented an apartment from (the very lovely) SaneBlade & HuddersfieldBlade
-Made friends with AlienBlade
-Been a long time friend of Robbie_Loving
-Got the GCB ringtone for my Nokia 3210

That telly has seen some sterling service. It operated as the main telly until 2010 when i got an xbox and the world cup was impending. Then i bought a 42inch LCD telly and it went in the bedroom until i split with my ex wife and took the big one where it regained its status as number 1 telly until she bought a new one and it went back in her room. Its recently been given back to me and its now in my young uns room.

Thanks to the power of the internet you have got the full life history of the telly you flogged from your Corsa in Owlerton car park to me and my ex in a clapped out old Ka.

My first ventures on the message boards came in the back end of 1999 when i was working at Butlins in Minehead and found out the local library used to let you use the internet for free. Became a lot more proflic in about 2002.

BU grrrrrr hate the layout of that forum, also hate the layout of BM signed up but rarely posted I found the lunatics in charge of the asylum and reasonable debates soon turned to slanging matches between certain posters still going on about stuff they posted years ago. That and the adverts were so annoying on BM, I really can't think why people would use a site moderated by a knob and full of pigs on a wind up. I have always had the same username be it on Unitedite (which is still running in a small way) BoM or here.

I registered on Viewpoints in 1996. I was, briefly 'pompey blade', then 'pompey' then because I had to re-register, added the extra 'm', for no particular reason. Met up with the VPers at the rainy Oxford game, met up with many others at various away days, including Trinidad and Tobago. Migrated to BUVP and dallied with Unitedite, but settled here. Never changed my name. Why bother?

Am in touch with some on facebook.

Webbo banned me for calling Len De Goey a cunt (that really hurt, like) and banned me again for some or other fucking reason (I think it was because he issued a ban warning and I had the temerity to answer him back)

What a cunt.

pommpey

He once banned me for alluding to the existence of youtube.

:)

Been around since the beginning on the old viewpoints (part of original sufc site).

I remember registering and using around 1996 (season we beat Ipswich and lost to Palace in playoffs).

Been on many of the others such as Suisa, Unitedite, Bladesmad, Barrell of Money etc.

This site does an excellent job and has right mix of banter, no irritating 'rival' fans and enough debate without anyone getting out of hand. Some of the moderators on other sites were a little over zealous but then some other sites such as Blades Mad had 'some' less than coherent posters on too. As I say this forum has the right balance for me so long may it continue.

For a number of years, I was Wardonia Blade on BU. When I was a sprog Wardonia advertised on the front of the programme. I was also fascinated by the factory turning out the blades.

Did you ever find out is Michael Palin was a Blade though?

Haven't heard any Hot Dog Doris stories for a while either...

I have been on BU and on this site for about 12 years now. I must hold the record for the length of time served without any kind of ban, which just shows what a well adjusted chap I am. Or that people are scared I will sue them.

Highlight of my time is, of course, that kind anonymous person outing me on BU. I would be curious to know who that was. I bear him no ill will anymore. If he is around I wonder if he has the guts to fess up.

You're assuming it was a he.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned Dazzler......

I believe the person concerned was male as:

1. 98% or thereabouts of people on these forums are male;
2. That sort of spiting people for a laugh is more often done by men that women;
3. The style of writing was more masculine than feminine.

I could be wrong, of course, and the fact (if I can be slightly sexist for a bit) that he/she has never owned up does in fact show what a big girl's blouse they are.

Wasn't there a trick for getting behind the anonymous aliases on BU? Bert used to go on about it.

On that basis, surely someone must know.

There may well have been, but I would have no idea how to do it.

I have never been banned either Darren. Some people have irked me over years but it is a message board and never saw the point of getting personal.

I remember when the old VP that morphed into BladesUnited went and I e mailed the admin to say why it had gone and the chap who run it (Somebody Firth?) sent a long e mail to say he had enough and that there was no point of it anymore.

All a bit odd as it was still really popular and despite some of the over zealous admin was still the most popular forum for SUFC on the web - now been taken over by this excellent site.

Remember one excellent site that had interviews with all the old Blades; bit like A United View (very good site). Was it called Vauxhall Blades?

Remember being most prolific when at Uni. Should have been doing my dissertation and reading Shakespeare or some crap but was too busy arguing whether Jon Cullen should be given more of a chance.

I got banned from BU three times; first for using the phrase "gobbled off", second for posting a link to the old London Blades message board, and permanently for giving HB the details of an old login of mine.

The bloke who ran that board had a hard job but never knowingly did himself a favour.

I got banned 3 times on BU before getting a permanent ban. To be honest the third time I got banned was for something completely trivial and an email asking why saw an extremely shirty response back from Webcunt daring me to try his patience again which I took upon as a challenge. By them I was a regular on the old Unitedite, so for me it was no great loss.

Step Firth, I think he did it on a voluntary basis and got fed up of it, simple as really.
