There has been a few from days gone by now. I have been a regular contributer since the turn of the decade starting off on the old viewpoints, the old BU, Unitedite, BarrelOfMoney and now where which has been my regular board for a few years.

Only a handful of posters have been around longer than me, such as Raul, Bladesway, Walthy, Deadly Djaffo, Darren and Bert. Seen some posters come and go who have been memorable such as Curtis, Warnocks Box Blade and the unforgettable Blades4eva.

Now BM is apparantly a busted flush. Never been a member on there so i would like to welcome aboard the new influx of members and think it can only be a good thing for both forums to join up on here and create one big forum.

Big thanks to Foxy and Linz for allowing us at their own time and expence to have this great resource.

I think I started on Viewpoints/Suisa when Heath was in charge, then onto their successor BU. Registered at Bladesmad but couldn't get on with it and was lost in the wilderness when some kind soul pointed me towards the light.

Hello Brownie, I'm one of the newbies on here. As you intimated, I was/still am on BM, but the technical problems have prevented me signing back on. I think this is probably down to Footy Mad being a mass provider and not a dedicated Blades site, but there again, I am technically dense so what do I know?

All forums have their mixture of characters, amateur irritants, the ITK brigade, those who offer common sense by the shed load, and an all round mix of committed Blades fans. I'm slowly coming to terms with the site and I must add it's been well thought out, lots of good features that make it stand out head and shoulders above most sites.

I get to games when I can, a combination of health issues and finance mean that I have to pick my games carefully. A sad reality of the times we live in I'm afraid, but this only goes to underline the importance of this site. For buggers like me it enables me to stay in touch and see what's happening with the mighty(?) Blades.

Good post mate, here's to a better future for everyone.

I was a contributor to the old Pavillion End carrier pigeon message board in 1916. I used to post from the trenches at Passiondale (as we called it in the 1st Yorks Regt Maxim Loaders and Cannon Fodder Brigd) Before that, all topics were delivered by hand by small children on velocepides. I had the login name of FattyFoulke20stbastard. We used to slag the manager off then as well but we were up in the top division. Reyt laff.

I've been around since the very first Viewpoints, in fact I was also a member of the SUFC e mail list run off one of the Hallam uni servers.

Have had a few names, but before I moved down here I was known as TotleyRedandWhiteWizard on BU, and on Unitedite. I think I used my real name on VP!!

Hi Vancouver, I'm one of the guys just transferred from Blades Mad. I couldn't help but notice your mention of Len. Seems he had the same notoriety way back as he still seems to rejoice in. He's not the only one I might add, but what happens is that there is an ongoing set of threads that are only meaningful to anyone who is aware of the root cause behind any of this. It boils down to accusation vs counter-accusation vs counter-counter accusation, and whatever the cause and rightness of a point of view, boy did it give a new appeal to watching paint dry!

One or two of the BM contingent who've already signed up will enjoy themselves here. I've already sprinkled the signing on procedure with garlic, hopefully that will keep Len and anyone else infected with the same nonsense, at bay.

I used to 'lurk' on BladesUnited until April 1st 2001 when I decided to register and as I was that ecstatic with the 1-2 Hillsborough triumph that I thought I would honour the hero of hillsborough with the username 'Deadly D'Jaffo'. I was 15 at the time and listened to a lot of So Solid Crew which might explain 'Deadly'.

I really enjoyed BU and have had the pleasure of meeting some good people from the forums over the years. To summarise;

-Got annoyed with Puppet & subscribed him to loads of porn
-Threatened Webbo
-Sold a telly to BrownieBlade
-Raul tried grooming me
-Rented an apartment from (the very lovely) SaneBlade & HuddersfieldBlade
-Made friends with AlienBlade

Been around since the beginning on the old viewpoints (part of original sufc site).

I remember registering and using around 1996 (season we beat Ipswich and lost to Palace in playoffs).

Been on many of the others such as Suisa, Unitedite, Bladesmad, Barrell of Money etc.

This site does an excellent job and has right mix of banter, no irritating 'rival' fans and enough debate without anyone getting out of hand. Some of the moderators on other sites were a little over zealous but then some other sites such as Blades Mad had 'some' less than coherent posters on too. As I say this forum has the right balance for me so long may it continue.

How's about cynical optimist? Know what you mean fella, sometimes it's like pouring your money into a dark hole. The next 12-18 months should be interesting, for SUFC and for Clough.

Even with yesterday's performance, NC has, in a short space of time, managed to build a lot of goodwill for himself. He ticks lots of boxes, he comes across as a straight shooter, and won't tolerate anyone fannying around. The way he's dealt with Brandy has shown a maturity that I think a few doubted, which should send out a very clear signal to the other players. Maybe that's why we're beginning to see signs from Baxter that he can become a player worthy of wearing the shirt?

I'm new here too, and this is a big improvement on BM, so look forward to seeing your posts mate. UTB

I have always been Born On Shoreham Street (hence everybody called me BoSS!), except for this site that can only accommodate the first three words!

Started on SUISA and then Viewpoints, BladesUnited, Barrel of Money, Unitedite (2 or 3 incarnations I think), and another one or two who's names I forget, S24SU and BM.

Got temporarily banned from Viewpoints and BladesUnited at exactly the same time

They are (were) all good places to be for one or more reasons.

BM is still running though ...

I've been Highbury_Blade on BU, Bladesmad and here. Started off in about 2005.

Was also briefly Kendo Nagasaki on BU after my HB account had been permanently banned. I was borrowing an old account of WalthamstowBlade , and on BU there was a rule that you could only have one account per email address. Webbo realised Walthamstow's accounts were talking to each other, and banned both of his accounts. That was only a couple of months before the shutters came down on BU for good anyway.

I think I reserved my Highbury_bBlade account over at BladesReunited, a message board formed shortly after BU went down for those masochists that actually liked BU's User Interface (It actually somehow has a worse user interface).

Having had a quick shufty over there, it seems that those masochists are still using it!
