** Seeing as by his own admission, Foxy hasn't got time to get it up ;) **

For any new members, we try and get a game of football on every week - as long as we can get a minimum of 8 people confirming for definite by the Saturday evening, the game goes ahead.

It's a friendly kick around for a couple of hours open to anyone who wants to turn up, regardless of skill, age or fitness... do feel free to bring a mate. The main aim is to have a laugh.

Venue: Powerleague (Pitz), behind Woodbourne Road Tram Stop (S9 3HL) TBC, see post below.

Time: 10:00 Sunday

Cost: The cost of the pitch is shared equally between players - between £2 - £3 each depending on how many turn up

What you need: Trainers, moulded or astro-turf boots. No studs. Shinpads optional.

Please yey or nay in the poll above... you can change your vote if your availability changes.

I should have a excuse not to play......but I haven't at the moment. :D. Will let you know later tonight.

Just to let you all know, there is a possibility of a change in location due to changes to pricing structure and flexibility. Will keep you updated over the coming days.

Essentially, the discount I'd previously secured is being removed (nothing personal, but across the board).

Was there a problem with the payment on Sunday ??

If we're saying instead of £2 or £3 per game it's going to be £5 or £6 I'd be in favour of sucking it up rather than, say, going back to the Uni pitch we used to use with the holes in the partitioning nets.

Compare and contrast the entertainment value of two hours of us lot @ £5 to two hours of SUFC@ £20/£22/£25/£28*

*depending on opponents, membership status, prefrred location, day you bought ticket, what colour socks you're wearing, what Kev had for breakfast etc etc

One of the issues is that you wouldn't be getting your two hours. You'd be paying twice as much and despite the fact the place is dead, being limited to just the one hour.

One of the great things about the Uni pitches are the holes in the partitioning nets. Want a little rest? Just boot the ball through one of the many openings and Bob's etc etc.

Can't we try doing a deal with Goals again ?? i'm for paying more as the entertainment is far better than two bleedin hours at the lane anyway. Any money left over could go towards the forum.

Sheffield Works Department might be an option? We can usually play on after the hour is up on Tuesday nights and a 5-a-side pitch is £29 for the hour.

I could get student discount at goals and it would be £37 and maybe pitz, we'd have to check. These places deserve to go bust with their price hikes and silly rules but they know people have no choice but to play 5 a side there due to leagues and quality of pitches etc.

A bit of a left field suggestion for a new venue. I reluctantly can't play on Sunday mornings at the moment due to daughters swimming lessons, but I thought I'd throw a suggestion in for your consideration anyway mainly because the venue I have in mind is free!!!

In the centre of Eyam village there is a new(ish) all weather football pitch, that is just as you would expect - enclosed by high fence, built in goals, marked 5-a-side synthetic pitch. No booking required, it is completely free and open for community use by the public FREE of charge.

Depending on where you live in Sheffield Eyam isn't as far a drive as you might think.

Pro's -
completely free to use synthetic five a side pitch
free parking
play as long as you like

Cons -
First come first served basis, no booking
Not great public transport access
A bit of a drive depending where you live

So i suppose the question is........if we don't secure another venue, then are we prepared to go to Pitz and pay 40 quid ?? I vote yes but it is a democracy :)

I think we should decide by using an Australian-style points system for each venue ;)

SM +1, potentially +2. Why don't we play at goals? £37 student discount, that's £4 per person for 2 hours of entertainment. Not much at all.

I'm happy to play, can someone who has me on facebook let me know if it is on or not?
