Kevin Blackwell in his post match interview said that Fortune's injury had just about cleared up and he had resumed training.
It would appear from that comment that the player is still with us and could be added to the squad if his trial period is successful. I think he would be good enough cover for CB, but should we lose Kilgallon, would Blades fans be satisfied with him as a suitable replacement ?

There's no doubt that Killa is attracting a bit of attention.
The big plus is that he is still in contract talks with us and that coupled with the fact that the Premier League has started looks promising.
If we were to lose him I suppose Fortune could be seen as an 'adequate' replacement.
I personally think that Killa will stay (at least until January) and then have a look at our position. If we are doing well and in with a good shout of promotion I hope he will stay.
After all if we do go up he might be back in the Championship with his new club !
But this is SUFC and it's easier to pick the winning lottery numbers than try and second guess what Mr R and crew will do for the good of the Blades.

I think Killa and Morgan have become quite a good partnership at this level.

Killa is improving game by game and he must be worth more than the figures being mentioned.

We can't expect any replacement for Killa to be as good. We'd have to develop a player of that quality. Fact of life I'm afraid.

we shouldnt accept the sale of killa either, should it happen.

And it was nothing to do with Arsenal being pretty damn good?

Taking a player in the dressing room of a match when he does not want to be there, not only makes his morale go lower but the whole squads morale goes. Without morale.. a team wont win. FACT.

So who is in for Killa, let him go if he can find a better club with a better wage.

Should Everton fans accept the possible sale of Lescott?

killa would be just part of the great sheff utd yard sale though, whereas lescott has been unsettled by the new money-men of the PL, hardly the same thing is it?

How is it different? Let's not kid ourselves that Killa wouldn't double or triple his money at Villa or a similar club. And if he wanted to do that, and play at a higher level, who would criticise him?

It's the same as Lescott being tempted from one obscene salary to the next, just at a lower level.

Our success depends on his staying and wanting perform. But we're at the mercy of those with the cash. As soon as they come in, his head will turn.

Awful but true.

You're right, watching Lescott was cringe worthy, maybe he was trying but didn't look very convincing....

This frustrates the hell out of me as Everton did everything that I based my arguement for keeping the Kyles on. They rejected bids and then turned down Lescotts transfer requests!

The guy's on a 4 year contract and I hope they just put him in the reserves and let him rot rather than sell him.

If he does go to Man City, then I'm sure Everton will have Killa on their shopping list....

Trouble is, Everton are necessarily a prudent club with no major benefactor. They will cave in soon enough, especially if his toys continue to leave the pram.

Been there, bought the T-shirt:

Yep and I like them as club, they need the money even though they were a better team than Man City last season, trouble is the Rich Sheikhs play thing are trying to bully them and it'll work... and theres nowt Everton or any other team can do about it as the PL have no rules for this sort of thing.

Plus Everton are already a centre half down as Jags is out for another few months.
