Now we've all had a moan and whinge about shit loads of stuff ranging from single players, game plans to McCabe's tennure as chairman let's move on shall we? So with little funds available what would you do with the current squad? My tuppence is as follows:
To me at the moment it does not look like we have the right balance to play a 4-4-2 formation. Our 'wingers' are either not good enough or aren't really wingers (ala Quinn and Willo). Lowton and Williams have shown more ability going forward than straight forward full back defending. Also, as has been pointed out about McDonald - he is probably the most talented of the midfield bunch as far as composure & passing ability goes but completely lacks any form of graft which leaves the other central midfielder overran in the centre.
Looking at the squad it seems that a wing back 3-5-2 system would suit us better. Lowton and Williams as wingbacks, Maguire, Collins & Lescinel as the back 3, McDonald, Monty and Quinn as the midfield 3 with a top 2 of.....well, take your pick, I can't decide on my pairing as they've all been as shit as eachother.
