Iain Turner: the Scottish keeper played 11 games for us during Clough's last season - amazingly only 6 off his all time best. After his spell with us he warmed the bench for non-league Tranmere.
Daryl Westlake: The only memorable thing about his spell with us was a screenshot of his online dating profile where he was coy about his profession. After leaving us he spent a couple of unspectacular years at Kilmarnock until 2016 when he joined non-league Stourbridge, where he remains to this day.
Jasper Johns: Released by Everton and signed by Weir. He made 1 appearance for us, which was his first and last as a professional.
Sean McGinty: Arrived at the same time as Johns and made a simalar impact, managing a mere 2 appearances. Since leaving us he eventually made a name in the national league with Aldershot and Torquay, earning him a move to Partick Thistle this year, in the Scottish Championship.
Andy Butler: The leader we were all craving, who swiftly fell out with Nigel Clough before managing to make a single league appearance. After returning to Walsall for the remainder of the season, he moved to Doncaster Rovers permanently, where he's made 158 appearances and remains to this day.
Febian Brandy: The winger was the subject of a bid from Barcelona in 2007, while at Man Utd. His career has rapidly declined since and we were just one stop on a nomadic journey which has seen him play in Greece and Thailand. He now plays for Droylsden, at 29.
Callum McFadzean: The younger brother of Kyle, Callum was tipped for big things. Unfortunately for him it never worked out at United and he ended up in the non-league (via Kilmarnock) after leaving the Blades. Fortunately for him, he broke back into the FL this season, where's he's been practically ever present for Bury, who sit 3rd in L2.
Jason Holt: Brought in to rival Scougall and Flynn for the role of resident diminutive Scotsman, Holt played 17 games, scoring 5, on loan from Hearts.
After leaving us, Holt joined Rangers, where me made 87 appearances until this season, when he was loaned to Fleetwood.
Elliot Whitehouse: Another highly thought of academy graduate who fell out of the football league shortly after leaving us. Like McFadzean, Whitehouse has returned from the non-league; he helped Lincoln City to promotion and featured heavily for them last season, even netting the winner in the EFL trophy final.
In the summer he moved to fellow L2 club Grimsby, though he's yet to play for them.
Shaun Miller: Signed from Crewe, after a slow start, Miller began to show promise, scoring several goals. Unfortunately, his form was cut short by a nasty cruciate ligament injury. He did pop up to score the winner at Craven Cottage in the cup, which probably remains his most memorable Blades moment. After leaving us he's played for 7 different clubs, finally settling on a return to Crewe.
Billy Paynter: I was spoilt for choice in terms of ineffectual target men; I could have easily opted for Steve Davies or Chris O'Grady. I chose Paynter though, as the other two at least managed a goal for us.
Paynter's final season was in 16/17, where he unfortunately couldn't help Hartlepool retain their league status.
