Christ, we had some terrible players while we were in League One.
Looking back now, I can't even remember what we used to do while on the pitch. I think of our side now, going back to when Wilder took over, and we have such an identity. When I look back on these years I will remember everyone's role.
I look back on our time in League One and don't have a clue what we were doing. I can't even imagine what a game looked like other than just football blandness. Paul Thirlwell. I mean, I do remember him. He played a lot for us. And I saw a lot of those games. But I cannot remember a typical Paul Thirlwell action. Ditto Michael Doyle. A typical Doyle action is maybe a tackle? He did the cockney walk once after scoring a pen. But I can't imagine what he'd do in a Chris Wilder side. Bob Harris. He just capably played in the position of left back I guess? Save for the odd talented player - a group which probably doesn't extend far beyond Harry Maguire, Stephen Quinn, Che Adams, Kevin MacDonald and Jamie Murphy every now and again - we were absolutely shite.
