Reight fucking cock up not going up this season , I honestly think we were primed for a great run in the prem with some of the youngsters coming right at just the right time FFS
We were showing promise but we were still too inconsistent. One more year should fix that…he says confidently.

One slot left in your midfield, which of these players are you signing?

Yossi Benayoun - 210apps 34 goals

N'Golo Kante - 220apps 12 goals
What you on about?. Yossi Benayoun retired 3 year ago , so I wouldn't sign him.
All I'm on about is the other day on Talksport they where saying you would need £100 million to get Declan Rice 😲 then I see this thread where apparently Forest have offered £20 million for MGW. (IMO) that is a joke, noway is there a 80 million pounds gap between these 2 players despite the roles they play . Some of the players suggested as comparisons are far and away above Declan Rice ability or skill levels and probably MGW,s.
So one slot left in midfield , Tony Currie if you putting up Yossi Benayoun as your example as they've both retired.

Really? Don't the youngsters need a season or two in the championship to develop? Most of the current squad were found wanting last time.

Most of the young kids arnt ready for 1st team foot ball especially premiership.
Could see a few more stepping up to the championship though .
Having said that expecting too much too quickly from them won't work.
Looking forwards to seeing the likes of Oli Arblaster and Sydi peck come through! Not had so much talent coming through since the early 60s when we had almost a full team of local lads.
Silent blade would be able to fill in the details of that era.

Very true,Premiership is definitely no place to learn your trade, a season or two in the championship would be ideal,to see who can cut it and who wont.

I'm not sure what is more ridiculous in this thread, people thinking that there is only one position called "midfield", or looking purely at contextless transfer fees in terms of what players are worth, what players cost and who would be a better signing. If the collective minds of what I've read here were running United, I'm not sure where we'd be first, League One or bankrupt.

Actually, League One, as I doubt half the people here would make any sort of offer on any player that would actually be accepted, hard to go broke that way

We paid £4 million more for John Egan than Real Madrid have paid for Rudiger.

Sack the board!

Controversial I know but MGW is being painted as the next Messi, he was alreight and I did enjoy watching him for a season. In all honesty I think in a higher division his flicks and tricks will be found out, he was giving possession away a lot for us in the championship, in the premier league when you lose the ball you don't get it back as easily. My honest prediction is that he ends up lower prem/upper championship.

Ok, now you all can tell me I am talking shit.
Agree, though hope I’m wrong as his attitude was spot on so I do hope he goes onto the very top
And 20 million @ 50k a week plus bonuses in the Premiership is nothing
If he turns it on as he did here at a consistent level then next year he will be a 50-70 million player
Just shows how starved we are and have been of creative players with pace

Strange comparison. Rice is an excellent player by the way. (IMO).
Rice is an excellent player as you say

Good luck to MGW if he joins forest - don’t get the hate - good club who have won league titles and 2 Europeans cups whilst we were fking about being badly run and heading to the 4th division

He'd walk into the Forest team. They don't have anyone nearly as good. And we've always got McB and Brewster to step into our team (insert irony as appropriate).

Not going up has been a blessing in disguise, that side would have been cut to ribbons on a regular basis.

Although not our player... The other day Southampton had offered £20million, Leeds were interested along with Newcastle and Wolves considering a new deal. Until anything is signed and formal press release done for me it's lazy click bait journalism. Stick 2 and 2 it gets to around 4. In context Kalvin Phillips of Leeds is "worth" £50million to some papers for Man City when you put together both you still haven't bought Jack Grealish!

they want mgw i hate forest,us blades were a much better football club they dont exist to me ,some of there fanbase are thugs and there goalie is a cheat, they can go to hell,we will pass them next season when they go down stuff forest i hate them nuff said ....utb...

I've never liked the Forest fans but nothing against them as a club. Good luck to MGW wherever he ends up, he owes us nothing but better options will be open to him than Forest.

Excellent point.

MGW does regularly give the ball away because he’s always trying tricks and flicks.

In the PL possession is massively important. You can imagine Pep dropping MGW to the reserves if he continues to play his style. He would need to play in much more controlled conservative manner in the PL but then he wouldn’t be as good.

Also MGW has a questionable temperament. He almost tries too hard with a strong desire to win but he’s petulant, can be wound up and often comes close to being sent off.

They’ve only won the league ONCE in their entire history.

Also support wise they’re smaller than us. They’ve only averaged over 25,000 on FOUR occasions in the last 50 years.

They live off their European cup wins. As bad as the scousers in that regard.

Can't say that's surprising and probably would fit well. My main concern if I was him would be about getting game time. Would Cooper forefront the team that's got them there and use MGW as sub to bring on and up the game perhaps?

Just like Hendo - I've absolutely no issue with them wanting bigger and better things but it would be sad to see a talent benched and not allowed to grow. At one point there were mentions of Hendo being England's number 1, now I couldn't even tell you last time he played.
Half the team that got promoted were loans, so the Forest starting 11 will be much changed next season

I've got a feeling that when they start next season, they will have replaced a lot of those loans. They will take time to gel and it could backfire on them. Having said that, I think they will just avoid the drop and stop up on momentum and with their style of play. There will be 3 worse teams than them next season.

It's the second season that may well do for them, just like it did for us and nearly did for Dirty Leeds.

MGW may well be the difference between stopping up and the dreaded drop................ praying for the latter :p

Just to add to the above.

Does anyone think we will have offered 'something' to Wolves for MGW ???
