I think I just included everything that pissed me off all at once, should have also included cold calls from PPI companies for good measure while I was at it.

And Curtis, Herbert, Stanno....

...Barny is pressing his case to be included. Plus that berk on about infiltrators the other week.

Football at the top end is f***ed and a large part of that is down to the vast sums of money that is swilling about, most of it going to players or any others at that level who have their fingers in the pie. Switching games to suit television is another part of a f***ed football industry.

The part that annoys me just as much is the way Premier division teams just mop up any talent below top tier and then stick them in the reserves, or they would do if Premier division teams had reserve teams any more (of course they now want to f**k up the non league pyramid by having a 'second' team in the conference). Think Harry Maguire, at a football level no one benefited from his transfer from United to Hull. That's one example, there's hundreds of others out there.

Twenty plus years ago, when Gazza first went to Lazio and Italian football was on Channel 4 every week, I used to watch it and think, thank f**k our football (off the pitch - and for that matter on the pitch but that's a different argument) isn't like that. Now it's 10/20 times worse.

You've come to numerous irrational conclusions then made zero attempt to explain them.

That said, there's hardly much you can defend here.

Ha! This is the someone accusing another poster of coming to an irrational conclusion whenjust five hours ago his conclusion to the season was to pick a team of Youth players and put Morgan in charge.

I would rather trum0 blood than undrestand thatc

Sounds like a one man protest to me.
Brian the cabbage has been trying that for years - good luck.

Regarding the Blades. Doesnt matter who owns us and were they are from. They dont have a fucking clue.

Money is ruining modern football, whether it's coming from Sky, investors or anywhere else.

I'm only 25 so never saw pre Premier League football but I've read a lot of historical football texts, and just the idea that the smaller clubs were able to compete and a legal footing and football wasn't a constant financial battle makes it look far better than what it's becoming now.

That said, I go every week and pay my £20/22/25 to travel away so I suppose i'm contributing to it by not staying away. It's sadly something we all have to learn to live with.

Hey Za, I agree with you that a lot of issues are due to our very English knee, Mr McCabe.

What I think is annoying me, is that I think that the Prince and Phipps have come in thinking that they simply needed to invest the so called "20 odd million" which is infact much less if you take away the money we've made from the sales of our players, and have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of the English game assuming that just their money will equate to success.

The people in charge clearly have no knowledge of the game whatsoever and just wanted a rich man's play thing.

For me, you should have to prove you have a knowledge of the English game.

And I give you "persons with great knowledge of the English game"....Peter Risdale, Our own Mr McCabe, Mike Ashley, and not to forget Simon Jordon, to name but a few, None are "foreign owners, but i will leave you to decide the level of their success

Would you rather every game was at 3pm on Saturday and we had no football to watch on the tele?
Yes that is the way I would like it, football should be about the fans who attend the matches and times like 12:30 and 17:30/ Monday and Sunday kick offs are horrible for them fans.

Care to expand on that nonsensical point?

It's quite simple, if you don't like how football is being run these days go and watch the egg chasers it has none of the things your OP was aimed at, we all know that Football like most things has changed/progressed through the decades some of it not for the better imo too but you and the rest of us joe public supporters have no say in the matter and never will so it's either go with the flow or take your hard earned and buy a ticket for other sports/pastimes, best wishes!

What a sorry, defeatist, silly attitude to take.

No I'm good ta.

If somethings broken, I'd prefer to try and fix it rather than just give in.

And I certainly won't be watching rugby.

And if you think by coming on here with your grievances is going to "fix things" your sadly mistaken, ever heard of voting with your feet? might not be the answer not really suggesting it is but it's more proactive than having a rant on a social media site UTB!

It's all a frigging game for these rich foreign owners, spending their loose change on football clubs, until they get bored of them.
I can just imagine them trading clubs like bloody Panini Football Sticker "Got, Got, Not Got..." :)

I hope the next owners of United are foreign as well. The fake sheik might not have pulled any trees up but it's got to be better than a local businessman that owns a carpet emporium or a local building supplies company.

Football wasn't a financial battle except for Sheffield United who still pleaded poverty.

I don't think that the money paid for TV rights is an issue at all and personally I like watching as much football as possible. I agree that Southampton vs Newcastle at 12.45 is stupid but if they thought about the fans and decided to only show somewhat local games on TV eg London clubs vs each other, Manchester clubs vs each other, Liverpool clubs etc.

Yes ticket prices are quite high but I think that's a different matter all together.

If the TV money was trickled down through the leagues (yes PL teams should get 80%ish of that money, they earn it from being there) but then say the championship clubs get 10%, League 1 and 2 get 7% and 3%.

It doesn't really matter how much money is in football because its all relative. Man city pay £49m for Sterling then Liverpool pay £32.5m for Benteke. Where as a £49m transfer would cost £1m 20 years ago.

Yes there's tonnes of money in the game and maybe FIFA can sort that out (after themselves that is) but can you really buy any more with £100m than you could with £5m 20 years ago?

Yes. 20 years ago we couldn't compete with Italy on wages and the best players went to Serie A, including some of our best players.
Now, apart from the obvious pull of Real and Barca for Latin players and Bayern for German players we can attract almost anyone. There's even talk of Messi coming to the PL because of how he's being treated in Spain.
30 years ago football was on its arse in this country. Shit stadiums where there was a realistic chance of being punched in the face on the way to the ground, or on the way home. And not long before that a realistic chance of being punched in the face or hit with a dart, coin etc in the ground itself.

but for some reason English teams cannot perform in Europe. I don't understand it. We probably have the strongest combined top 4 on paper in the whole of Europe.

Is it the style of play? Are the players happy where they are earning £200k+ per week (may explain Chelsea's situation and our own for that matter).

Then again how many castaways have been signed by English teams, Pedro, Sanchez, Ozil etc most of them are regarded as some of the PL's best players yet couldn't get a game in Spain.

With regards to Messi to the PL he is always linked here and will be similar to the Neymar "rumor". Bale, Neymar, Ronaldo and Messi will probably only leave spain for the MLS or a hometown club, in my opinion this is mainly due to the shocking performances in Europe.

I've come to the conclusion no one cares anymore. Providing the clubs get into the league stages and get through the first knockout stage, they make enough money. I don't think the supporters care that much either.
It was a novelty at first but now it's a duller version of the FA Cup. Boring football, few real shocks, Real, Barca and Bayern in the last four every year. Boring dead rubber games in the league stage against some Eastern European team no one gives a shit about or have even heard off.

To be fair I do actually agree with you, but football is like a drug that you can't give up!

Ands much more fun to rant on social media.

I guess you're probably right, just have to take a look at West Ham's qualification run. The players couldn't get off of the pitch quick enough they chose to get sent off.
