Foreign ownership, alongside sky and money are, in my opinion, the three things that have absolutely ruined football in this country.

The fact that the likes of Man City and Chelsea dominate football based purely on the fact that they have been able to spend hundreds of millions of pounds sickens me.

The fact that we now have football on Friday night, Saturday lunch tone, Sunday morning, Monday night and Wednesday night and the FA cup final is 5:30 on a Sunday purely down to TV coverage is disgusting.

But its foreign owners, taking over clubs as hobbies who have absolutely fuck all knowledge of the game who annoy me just as much.

The likes of Cellino over at Leeds, the Bond villain at Cardiff and our own clueless buffoons really do frustrate the hell out of me.

They have absolutely no knowledge of football whatsoever, and think that by simply pumping a tiny tiny part of their vast fortune we should worship them and they'll buy themselves a profitable premier league hobby.

For me, alongside the "fit and proper person" test (the joke that is), foreign owners should be forced to sit a test to prove they have the slightest knowledge about English football before they are allowed to take over clubs.

It's s short term hobby and rich play thing for these people, it means so much more to the people who turn up every week.

If you don't know what you're doing, take your money and invest it somewhere else.

You're ruining football.

Who are you to tell them what to do with their money?

You wouldn't be saying that should one of these "foreign" investors come and have a nosy at us, would you?

I wouldn't. I'd be pleading they took it off the hopeless hands of our current owners.

I'm telling them not to fuck up my football club.

Unless you're completely dense, and I'm not ruling that out, you'll realise that this applies to our current foreign owners.

The fact that you've singled out foreign owners really does say a lot about you.

Would you object to a foreign investor taking us over then?

Of course I'm aware of that.

The current owners have turned out to be completely useless.

But if i'm not mistaken, you're struggling to make the point that just because a potential new owner is foreign, they're automatically going to fuck the football club up.

Read that back, and realise how silly you've come across.

No, you're just struggling to understand the point because you're not all that bright.

You've come on here, spouted a load of bollocks and now having a pop at everyone for 'not getting it'

Are you on the blob?

You think the influence of Sky stops at 'a few football games being moved for telly' and you wonder why I'm frustrated you don't get it?

Pete, I think you may know with our numerous interactions on here and on Bladesmad (when it was any good) that I respect you as one of the most Sensible posters on all United, but I really do think you have conflated numerous issues here colouring our dire situation. It's been the mis-management and idiocy of the people in charge, foreign or British that are Colouring the views of the state of our football. Stoke, Palace, Swansea, clubs I see as our contemporaries, have negocited their way through it, Watford and Norwich as well...

Are you referring to the money? You are right, lets stop all the money and let all the players fuck off abroad and we can have a league system of similar ilk to the Ukrainian league

Hey Za, I agree with you that a lot of issues are due to our very English knee, Mr McCabe.

What I think is annoying me, is that I think that the Prince and Phipps have come in thinking that they simply needed to invest the so called "20 odd million" which is infact much less if you take away the money we've made from the sales of our players, and have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of the English game assuming that just their money will equate to success.

The people in charge clearly have no knowledge of the game whatsoever and just wanted a rich man's play thing.

For me, you should have to prove you have a knowledge of the English game.

Curtis-Lite, if you think I'm talking bollocks, I must be on to a winner.

Which parts of it that you're capable of understanding do you find offensive?
The unreasonable need to single out 'foreign' owners, like they're more responsible than the English for how football has become. It's just that a wealthy individual capable of investing huge amounts more often than not happens to be from somewhere other than the UK, because it just so happens the rest of the world is slightly larger than little England.

If all wealthy investors only came from the UK, do you think the situation with how football has become would be remotely different? I don't. There would still be the same people as you put it "ruining" football by investing extortionate amounts.

The OP is presumptive bollocks.

Fantastic, if you think Its bollocks, it's more than likely spot on.

Yes I don't think we fundamentally disagree on much it was just the the issues around Sky TV, Foreign money, kick off times etc which I believe are separate issues to what we are facing right now. Our owners came in with a load of spin fed I. Have no doubt by the McCabes about how it was a piece of piss to get back to the Premiership.

Needed more Savy than that.

You've come to numerous irrational conclusions then made zero attempt to explain them.

That said, there's hardly much you can defend here.

I think I just included everything that pissed me off all at once, should have also included cold calls from PPI companies for good measure while I was at it.

Curtis-Lite, you're like a little spaniel trying to hump someone's leg.

I'm happy to have debates with rational and respected posters like Za, you need to hump the leg of someone else.
