It's a nice idea in theory but hard to attract in the third tier. It's the way to go in the championship, but we wouldn't even implement it then cos we're thick.

So you send across a sub titled version of When Saturday comes to all foreign clubs and wait for the begging letters don't you?

True. How could anyone resist?
Fuck Goal. 1, 2 and 3. Before Santiago Nunez goes to sleep, he kisses a poster of Jimmy Muir.

Fuck...
Let's have a limerick contest.
All this fuckin' United nonsense...
Leave it be...

There once was a chap called Diego
Who was wanted by the ol' Juvento
The Blades let him go
Into Europe? NO
He's serving the beer in The 'Rhino.

Beat that, ya scroungers.... X

There once was a young lad called Reed,
Quite lightweight, a bit of a weed,
Changed his name to Louisão,
All the fans shouted wow,
This foreign lad’s just what we need!

There is some great talent in the lower leagues of Europe but we won't take the chance on them.

Stick to players we already know are shite League 1 standard.

Oh BTW, foreign players seem to have a better mentality in comparison to our English boys.

You've only got to look to the Championship to see that it's a good idea to go for foreign based players. Clubs have been bringing them in with increasing success in the last few years.

Most second division clubs abroad are much smaller than us, even if their players are of a better standard and the league is of a better standard. We'd be able to tempt a lot of foreign second tier players despite being a third tier club.

Even if the money in English football isn't quite trickling down to the third division as it has into the second, some L1 clubs (like us you'd think) can still afford to prise players away from second tier clubs abroad and and the presence of such money in the Championship is more than enough to tempt many foreign players to join third tier clubs for more exposure and a possible route into the Championship. Kevin Van Veen at Scunthorpe might manage it if he carries on as he's started this season.

The French second division is a good place to look as has been proven, so is Belgium, the Spanish second division offers some possibilities because a lot of those clubs don't have much money and the standard is decent, the Bundesliga 2 is a decent place to look because the style of football is more similar to English football than any others, and plenty of the Scandinavian countries should be looked at too.

A club our size should have an expansive scouting network, and that means going beyond England. Our reluctance would make you think we've had great success in the English market in recent years, which we certainly haven't.

Been speaking to a Huddersfield supporter today and that's exactly what they've done this season - got a load of hungry young'uns in from Germany, backed up with a few youngsters on loan from top-end Prem teams. It's working a treat for them so far, top of the Championship (though he doesn't reckon they have the strength in depth to go up)
