For those who walked out early.....

If the players had 'left early' then it would have remained 2-5.

I share the disappointment of a loss like everyone else, but I feel this is a fairly pivotal time in the season. We really need to be that 12th man, or run the risk of finishing mid table.

It's never bothered me in the slightest people can come and go as they please so I understand it at 2-5 , but at 4-5 ???

That's left my brow mildly furrowed.

What's the big deal about traffic? Who cares about a swift journey home that much?

What if you are there with kids? Need to get up for work at 5am? If you live 3 hours away?

I stayed to the end, the point I was making isn't really about traffic it's that football is nothing like going to the cinema.

I understand the emotional aspect but it's poor how many left early.

This team and manager have earned our total unconditional support and loyalty.

And it should have been obvious that it wasn't a terrible performance, it wasn't a deserved battering, it was just a strange game where we made mistakes and got punished. We always looked likely to get at least one more goal back as well.

We had a genuine chance of getting a point at the end. Shame not everybody was there to cheer them on.
Keeper took the ball right off the top of Leon's head. That would inevitably have been the equaliser.

I can't get enough of united at the minute, but even when we've been really shit I've never left before the end

Loads had gone on 90 mins, my 8 year old asked to go, I said we don't do that wait and see what happens.
Full-time while we applauded them off: glad we stayed dad

I’ve left early twice.

Once when we were 3-0 down against Watford away. Never looked like scoring and one of the worst performances I’ve seen.

The other was the Christmas game at home to Oldham in 2013 when I fucked off at half-time. Freezing cold, and despite only being 1-0 down at half time I couldn’t see us winning it. We managed a draw.
Baxter free kick?

....call yourselves Blades?
The first time we have looked to be out of a game and you desert? The management and especially those players who fought like tigers to the bitter end deserve better.
To the fans who stayed, we almost pulled it off due to the fans spurring the lads on. U.T.B!
Take your head out if clouds lad....we left early as we always do as we come from Winteringham and on night matches our train leaves at 9-34 so as I say take your head out if clouds and don' start jumping on fans backs! We were there that's main thing pal, win, lose or draw!

How much time does it save though really? I drive to non-Saturday games, always leave at full time and it doesn't add a lot onto the journey. I'm not trying to slag people off by the way, there are many things I don't understand but this seems incongruous with supporting a football team to me.

Besides the point but personally any job that has me up at 5am would have me desperately searching for another job.

It must be a pretty shit feeling as a player to see so many fans getting up and leaving at 80 minutes after one poor performance in what has been an amazing season so far.

Still, it didn’t show and they fought back. Hopefully a lot of those who left may stick around a bit longer next time as we weren’t far off grabbing a point.

I left early, I am not very well, nearly didn’t come tonight, but got of my sick bed and made the journey from Huddersfield. I felt worse as the game went on so decided, rather that collapse and finish up in hospital, I would be better if going home to bed. Dies this make me a bad blades fan then.? Remember people have many reasons for leaving early, mine tonight was ill health, others might be last train, last bus, lift arranged, the game ‘over ran by at least 15 minutes’. You should really make rash statements based on your own knowledge or perception.

Too many cry babies "ooh we're losing I wanna go home". I remember some tosser next to me on the kop years ago vs port vale..crying like a fanny cos we were drawing and left just before deano equalised..he comes running back in going "fckin hell missed it" ..yes you did yer spineless belllsniff. If you have commitments fair enough..but cos we are losing? Grow a pair

Fair play but I can't imagine there were many in a similar situation to you tonight.

Those that stayed saw our team save the game from being a mauling at home, another Leon Clarke hat trick, and wilder thumping his badge at the kop to a round of "we're on the march with wilders army"

I never leave early. Ever.

What if you failed to witness the most staggering blades come back of all time?

But they didn't, so I doubt anyone regrets leaving early tonight.

I spent several years living in West Yorkshire.
I recall a night match v Oldham Athletic in 1989, I had booked 935 pm coach to Leeds and next one was1120 pm or something.
I was stood at the back of the kop. Waiting and waiting for the final whistle.
I could no longer see the entire pitch as I drifted down the steps area.. Whistle. Relief. Joy.
Ran like hell, got the coach, told a bloke the score was 2 0.
Next day I found Roger Palmer got one back. Only time I ever missed a goal at a match. I don't even go for a piss. Am that good. So keen to get everything from the game.
