Too many cry babies "ooh we're losing I wanna go home". I remember some tosser next to me on the kop years ago vs port vale..crying like a fanny cos we were drawing and left just before deano equalised..he comes running back in going "fckin hell missed it" ..yes you did yer spineless belllsniff. If you have commitments fair enough..but cos we are losing? Grow a pair
The Deano winner on the way to promotion in 1990.Fantastic.

I did provide some other reasons...yes blade

I'm not judging anyone leaving early. It's easy for me, I love nearby.

But just saying, I don't leave early. Certainly not 3 goals behind with 20 odd minutes plus to go.

In fact, never.

I confess that I left early and missed two goals, but it takes me over an hour to get home, my lad is at school tomorrow, if I wait until the end, it genuinely adds at least another 30 mins to the journey.
I got him home at half eleven after one night match and he got sent out of maths next day which according to his Mother, was my fault :(

We don’t all live in Sheffield, long journey home then up for work at crack o dawn! Still a Blade
Neither do I, but there was no way I was leaving before I could applaud the team at the final whistle. The way people streamed out at 2-5 I don't believe was anything to do with long journeys home and work at crack of dawn. Must be a bit disheartening for the team.

It was my 45th birthday today so naturally I knew we would lose as I had such a good laugh pre match. I left at 5-2 and went for a curry with mates. Curry was great and we still lost. Either way I'm up at 5am and I had a great day. I can't remember the last time I felt so positive after a defeat. Granted the Amstel helped. Utfb.

The traffic is a bit of a shitter but so what? I'd rather stay till the final whistle and queue up Fitzwilliam Street for 20 minutes.

I got home from the match tonight at about 10.40, I went to Burton on Friday and got home at about 10.55 :D:D

Got no real issue with folk having to leave early although don't personally agree with it unless there is a very good reason. What does piss me off is the crowd of people who leave their seats early and head for the exit but then just congregate at the bottom of the kop to watch the end of the match, which then makes it even slower for everyone else to get out afterwards. If you want to go early just go, or stay in your seats till the end and clap the team off.

I left early, I am not very well, nearly didn’t come tonight, but got of my sick bed and made the journey from Huddersfield. I felt worse as the game went on so decided, rather that collapse and finish up in hospital, I would be better if going home to bed. Dies this make me a bad blades fan then.? Remember people have many reasons for leaving early, mine tonight was ill health, others might be last train, last bus, lift arranged, the game ‘over ran by at least 15 minutes’. You should really make rash statements based on your own knowledge or perception.
Both me and the better half are ill, have been for two weeks, both feel crap, drove 120 mile round trip stayed to the final whistle. Each to their own.

I never understand this unless maybe you have to get the last train home. It seems to be habitual for a lot of people, regardless of the scoreline or performance.

Especially with this team - under Adkins it was something else but tonight you could see players busting their bollocks for you and yet you want to get tucked in bed 20 minutes earlier? Of course you can do whatever you want but are you not bothered?

....call yourselves Blades?
The first time we have looked to be out of a game and you desert? The management and especially those players who fought like tigers to the bitter end deserve better.
To the fans who stayed, we almost pulled it off due to the fans spurring the lads on. U.T.B!
dick

Not read any of this thread it was just top of the list when I looked and it appeared to be about tonight and yes I’ve had a few but I love this club at the moment see u Saturday Blades x

Just read a few of the last few posts. You will always get some people leaving early whatever. I would say the lack of people streaming out at 2-5 and 15 mins to go says so much about this lot. Sorry someone’s probably already said the same but can’t read it all right now.

I've not posted before but just wanted to say terneet was great even though we lost. I really don't get leaving early. Was at Bramall Lane when we lost to Vale in front of about 8900 in1999, and at Vale Park on Boxing Day 2014 when it took 6 hours to get home through a blizzard on Woodhead pass (lost again!). On both these occasions going early would have been sensible, but being a Blade isn't always sensible! Going early to "beat the traffic" isn't in me genes, but people will do it and it's not (yet) a crime punishable by death, I just think that some people who do it are missing some good times, and they need to be more Stoic. We are "of the North" da knows!

I'd consider leaving early with a team that is taking the piss and not putting the effort in, but as that never happens under Wilder no way would I ever do that with this team. Understand the issues with travel and evening games though, that's a different thing.

I understand the emotional aspect but it's poor how many left early.

This team and manager have earned our total unconditional support and loyalty.

And it should have been obvious that it wasn't a terrible performance, it wasn't a deserved battering, it was just a strange game where we made mistakes and got punished. We always looked likely to get at least one more goal back as well.

We had a genuine chance of getting a point at the end. Shame not everybody was there to cheer them on.

I was going to post something similar but the fact you've beaten me to it means I wasn't the only one to be annoyed by it.

I've never had a go at our fans in my life. I'm not really going to do it now because people pay their money and take their choice.

But for fucks sake. Really?

After everything this group of players and staff have given us since last year, all they've done for us fans after being down in the shit for so long, and the effort you can see on the pitch tonight...you want to walk out 25 minutes early?

Besides missing goals, they need ALL our support when we're up against it and those that left weren't willing to give it. It doesn't make them lesser Blades, but frankly I find it a bit spineless. At the time I was furious, but now I'm just disappointed.

Up to thi, I guess.

when i was a really small kid we were playing Everton and it was one nil and bloody freezing. we decided to leave early. we just got to the kop gates and there was a big roar.. everyone legged it back inside as we thought we'd scored but Woody was lining up a penalty and he scored. i thought 'i'll never do that again.. i havent'.. however i often turn up five minutes late and miss the kick off!!

I didn't go last night because my arthritis is playing up and I didn't fancy treating it to an evening sat in the cold, because I'd have been in agony for the whole of the next day. But so what? It changes nothing.

I left at 2-5. I had a lift home and my mate was waiting. It was that or £15+ in a taxi.

If I wanna leave I’ll leave. It’s not a rule. I walked out of the Stoke game after 18 minutes under Robson

What pisses me off is the people who come in 5 to 20 minutes late, in the process pointing and'sorry mate ', the whole row stands to let them pass then they realise that they are on the wrong row. Fuck's sake.

I’ve never left early but last night I did. Only because I already had a 2 hour drive home so I thought setting off a bit earlier would see me miss a bit of traffic. Didn’t help when a main road was closed on the way home and added another half hour onto my journey. Home at half 12.

I always find it disappointing when fans leave early. While some may have a good reason around their transport home, most last night left because we were losing and that to me is poor.
Ok, some of those players had bad days and let their team mates down, but alternatively they have also won us many games and deserve some backing and support. I bet young CCV hardly slept.
Just support them, we dont want to see a return of fans on players backs, and players clearly at odds with the fans.
