....call yourselves Blades?
The first time we have looked to be out of a game and you desert? The management and especially those players who fought like tigers to the bitter end deserve better.
To the fans who stayed, we almost pulled it off due to the fans spurring the lads on. U.T.B!

They've as much right to call themselves Blades as you have sunshine, they paid their money. They missed out.

But mid week games are balancing act for a lot of people with work the next day and families, plus not everyone lives in Sheffield.

P.s. I didn't leave early

I nearly went at 5-2, does that make me less of a blade?

I mean - I did think about doing it. Had it been 5 minutes later I definitely would have.

Call misen a fuckin blade?!

Never in 43 years of mostly shite, have I walked out early. As a result I have been witness to some amazing events, eg Shaun Miller and his late brace v Port Vale, managed by Adams, in the cup.
Countless late goals during the Brian Deane era.
In 1989 90 Deane got very late winners v Oxford and Port Vale.
John Francis heading the fifth goal to regain the lead v Brighton. Amazing stuff.

I understand the emotional aspect but it's poor how many left early.

This team and manager have earned our total unconditional support and loyalty.

And it should have been obvious that it wasn't a terrible performance, it wasn't a deserved battering, it was just a strange game where we made mistakes and got punished. We always looked likely to get at least one more goal back as well.

We had a genuine chance of getting a point at the end. Shame not everybody was there to cheer them on.

I didn't even turn up to some games a few years back despite having a season ticket. I must be a proper wank Blade.

I know it's different now, but people can do what they want.
And right they are too. You pay to watch some shite when you'd be better off doing just about anything else at times.

I was going to post something similar but the fact you've beaten me to it means I wasn't the only one to be annoyed by it.

I've never had a go at our fans in my life. I'm not really going to do it now because people pay their money and take their choice.

But for fucks sake. Really?

After everything this group of players and staff have given us since last year, all they've done for us fans after being down in the shit for so long, and the effort you can see on the pitch tonight...you want to walk out 25 minutes early?

Besides missing goals, they need ALL our support when we're up against it and those that left weren't willing to give it. It doesn't make them lesser Blades, but frankly I find it a bit spineless. At the time I was furious, but now I'm just disappointed.

Up to thi, I guess.

We don’t all live in Sheffield, long journey home then up for work at crack o dawn! Still a Blade

To me its like leaving 5 mjnutes before the end of a film at the cinema. Sure you pay your mkney and do ehat you like but might as well watch the end. Loads if games have last mjnute goals. Utb

It's nothing like going to the cinema! When was the last time you went to a cinema an hours drive away from your home with 26k other people leaving at the same time to get stuck in traffic with?

I’ve left early twice.

Once when we were 3-0 down against Watford away. Never looked like scoring and one of the worst performances I’ve seen.

The other was the Christmas game at home to Oldham in 2013 when I fucked off at half-time. Freezing cold, and despite only being 1-0 down at half time I couldn’t see us winning it. We managed a draw.

I was incandescent with rage for most of the game. I stayed. I must be a value for money Yorkshireman. A guy who will get the value range at Sainsbury's then get his tea bags at the inevitable just across the road Aldi cos they're 15p cheaper.

A minority of people will have to leave for work, I do normally on a midweek game but tonight I swapped shifts.
The number that left at 2-5 were not all going to work.
The comments made that clear.
The manager and players have earned respect.
Let's move on
UTB

I never understand this unless maybe you have to get the last train home. It seems to be habitual for a lot of people, regardless of the scoreline or performance.

Especially with this team - under Adkins it was something else but tonight you could see players busting their bollocks for you and yet you want to get tucked in bed 20 minutes earlier? Of course you can do whatever you want but are you not bothered?

I thought about walking out at 2-5 because the result was terrible and the game was effectively over.

Then I thought, it’s still a really entertaining game, we’re still fighting and playing quite well
And more importantly we looked like we’d score a goal.

So decided to stay...and glad I did ..I clapped them off at the final whistle.

Playing positive attacking football means the defence can be open to counter attacks,
Normal attacking Fulham weren’t great but they looked really dangerous with their quick players on the counter.

Even though we lost I enjoyed it.
