The generous applause given to Clough by the greater majority of the crowd, coupled with no boos (from South Stand) tells me everything about what Clough did and didn't leave us. The greater majority were happy - and probably wanted him to have another year - excluding the "noisy minority".
Don't give a fuck what he does with Burton, although EVERY others clubs ineptitude means who ever does finish top 2 will have had a pretty average season - we all knew it was a crap league and nothing so far has altered that.
My biggest gripe with Adkins - he said the squad wasn't good enough and said everyone would get a chance - fucking suicidal decision and it could end his management career, not only with us, but will damage the good work he did at Scunthorpe and Southampton for future employment.
I really can't see why he has been so naïve.
As for the opening post - THIS SEASON at SUFC has clearly showed why Clough should have stayed - it might have been boring 4-5-1, it might have been 1 nils (and just as a reminder - Burton Albion, 21 1 nil wins this season according to Adkins), but we would (IMHO) have definitely been top 6 and considering how crap the division is, should have been top 2.
The folly (with hindsight) was getting rid - some of you seem to want to do it all again...............and probably next year.
Chrissy Wilder isn't even here (if it happens at all) yet some are already going down the route of criticising. Just amazes me at times.
