With K Mc injured, Willo and Monty are also doubts. So DWs hand may be forced a little. If all three are not available how do we line up?
Flynn, Quinn or Hoskins in Mid with Doyle? I would not like Cresswell back in midfield. I would not want Lowton to move for Ertl to come in. Is McCallister still on loan and do we have a call back?
If Hoskins comes in and Flynn on the right then their is not too much upheaval and at least the regular players would know their regular outlets are there.
Any other thoughts/ Options?

Ertl was awful in middle of midfield previously and offers less than monty going forward. Quinn in middle (not that I rate him there but best of the lot I think).

If all three are out, Quinn or maybe Hoskins (I'm really not sure if he could play there) in the centre with Doyle. Flynn and either Quinn or Hoskins out wide. Whichever it is we really Quinn to get back to his early season form and start to influence games a lot more than he has done recently.

Never questioned DW before, and really do support him, but on RS this morning we said that Doyle and Monty can play together in Midfield, but qualified that by saying in the right games. He said with Scunthorpe tonight he would look at the way they play, and decide on his best midfield to play against there style. Am I missing something here, are we not 2nd in the league and should not Scunthorpe be looking to combat us. Just hope that there is no negatavity creeping in, as we get closer to the prize, and we are starting to concentrate on what other teams do, rather letting them worry about us.

Think you might be reading too much into it CG. He was just covering his bases with the interview on RS for me. He knows we have people struggling to be fit and will have to pick what he's left with so he can't say anything else in my opinion.

I would replace Willo with Flynn if he can't make it. As Monty isn't any sort of replacement for KMac I see more of a problem if he is fit than if he isn't to be honest. Ertl is no worse (and at least has some height) but I'd possibly bring Matt Harriot in.
We haven't got a proper replacement who can do the McDonald job so we have to go back to earlier in the season when it wasn't nearly as pretty but we did grind out results.

Moving Williams into midfield might be an idea but perhaps too defensive minded to start the game that way?

Why not give a young player a chance in centre of mid, like Harriott, I don't think Hoskins is suited to being out wide either.

If DW isn't willing to try Whitehouse or Harriott type why not go.

Lightweight possibly, but if we keep possession and play like we usually do its not a far cry away from how we play. Don't forget half the time Matty and Jean are up in attacking areas, and we are usually left with Harry and Collins back with with Doyle supporting.

Plus having Hoskins and Ched dropping behind Beattie you can pack the midfield if needs be.
Ched already drops deep into midfield areas in games regular.

Playing to our potential is playing possession play, I have nothing wrong with Monty but having a Monty and Doyle partnership is not playing to our potential. Personally I'm hoping Willo is fit, and he goes, Flynn Willo Doyle Quinn.

Why would he play Hoskins or Williams out of position in midfield when we have a 24-hour recall clause for McAllister?

If Monty is out, he will play Williamson and Flynn.
If Willo is out, he will play Monty and Flynn
If both are out, he would surely have recalled McAllister from Shrewsbury.

I suspect Creswell and Evans will start as usual with Hoskins and Beattie on the bench.
He'll only make changes when he's forced into it.
It's been that way all season, even in the cups, and it've been successful for him. Why change now?

Oh gosh don't say that it sounds like Warnock and Blackwell playing cautious and worrying about how to stop the opposition instead of playing our game.

I'd probably agree with that. I thought Quinny had a very good game in the centre pre-season against Blackpool. The other sub was Ertl on Sunday.

I know he's not the quickest but I bet he's not much slower than Quinn.
