Sell Sander Berge asap and buy a mobile hardworking midfielder. We have gone backwards ever since Wilder shoehorned him into the team. He would look good in a side like Chelsea, man City etc who dominate possession but he doesn't suit our style. When our strikers press, his man is always the out ball as he's yards away. He doesn't play with any intensity and general speed of play is slow, killing the momentum of the attacks.

I’d take McBurnie and Mousset off that list due to the fact that to recruit players with better records equal to McBurnies in the champ would cost more than we’d recoup and Mousset would be very hard to handle a level below. We have a young strike force with them and Brewster and they need to be developed. I’d add Stevens as I think his time has come at left back and also Baldock as we’d likely recoup a decent wedge for him.

And this is the point.

None of our players will be of interest to Premier League clubs after their shortcomings have been ruthlessly exposed in this season's horror show.

That leaves Championship clubs as the only buyers in the market, and even though there are some wealthy clubs in that division, none of them will be paying anywhere near bottom of the range Premier League wages for Premier League failures. Only complete idiots, like the planks at S6 would do that, and everyone knows where that leads to.

It is, therefore, difficult to see how we will be able to get rid of any of these players and re-build a competitive side for the Championship.

Through some ill-judged transfer business we have contrived to squander a golden opportunity to establish the club on a sound footing for the future and have got ourselves into a position whereby we could face real challenges to manage the financial fall-out whilst trying to remain competitive in the Championship.
