Did anyone else listen last night? It's almost worth refusing to pay the license fee for... that pair of idiots rabble-rousing but when someone turns the tables on them, well... uppity doesn't even begin to describe it.

For anyone who didn't listen, there'll be a listen back through the link stickied in this forum. There was a Chesterfield fan who was basically told to shut up by Paul Walker. A Blade who couldn't get a word in edgeways because Paul Walker wanted to tell us all about what he thought.

And then a Blade phoned up and asked them if they maybe felt a bit guilty about the shit stirring they had indulged in with the Howard deal. They were reporting from Saturday that he was definitely going to sign but went back on that last night, blaming Sheffield United for telling them wrong and distancing themselves from the earlier "nailed on" deal. The Blade asked them if perhaps it was something they ought to have sat on until the deal was done in order not to alert the potential deal to other clubs.

The Chuckle Brothers went off alarmingly. Saying that the press had nothing to do with it and was merely trying to "find stories for the fans". How about a bit of responsible journalism and reporting the facts, instead of tabloid-esqe rumour mongering eh lads?

I thought it was meant to be a platform for fans to air their views. Not a pulpit for Paul Walker, who claims to be a fan of Sheffield United but all I've ever heard from him is stuff which tries to stitch up the club.

I'm glad I don't personally pay the license fee so I'm not responsible for his wages.

i heard most of it. especially the spirite. he was the one asking for some kind of clarification on the clubs stance on whats going and how the board plan on taking things forward. the chuckles were putting words in his mouth trying to make out he was demanding heads to roll left, right and centre when he was doing no such thing.

Yeah i heard it too, their response and tone to the call from the Chesterfield fan was pretty appauling from a supposedly neutral source. I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of apology was issued before the week is out.

I think that FH is a very good programme and they are usually very responsive to fan feedback so i am hopeful they will learn from the ensuing backlash and show a little more decorum in future.

Paul & Seth are Childish idiots everytime they hear something they dont like on FH they hang up or start having a pop at the caller when they are losing an argument IMO it is pathetic because everyone is entitled to there opinion whether Paul or Seth like it they are hosting a football phone in based on the Fans OPINIONS!!!! yet unfortunately they can't seem to grasp that fact.

I also find myself shouting at the Radio aswell because i am geting sick & tired of them both especially seth when anyone dares to mention Monty in a negative way he starts banging on about premiership clubs & other championship clubs being interested in him & if i remember correctly he cut a caller off the other week for stating that he thinks monty is crap and should not be playing for SUFC it's the blokes opinion FFS he should be entitled to speak his ind without Seth Jumping on hi every two seconds and then cutting him off.

If they carry on the way they are doing they will start finding that there will be alot of complaints put in to Radio Sheffield because it is supposed to be a fans phone in NOT THE SETH BENNETT & PAUL WALKER SHOW.

I listened too Linz, and couldn't agree more.

I used to listen to FH religiously but it's rapidly becoming tabloid radio. The two blokes on there have got their own opinions and when anyone comes on to question them, get all arsey and cut them off.

I thought the Spirite and the Blade who inferred that Radio Sheffield had stirred up the Brian Howard situation had very good points and were shot down.

They are supposed to be objective journalists and listen to other peoples opinions.

It's interesting when travelling to hear the other BBC local radio football phone-ins, the majority of which are much better.

The callers are allowed to call in and have their say without being interrupted and the presenter merely acts as a link between the callers, answering questions when asked. This allows for more calls and more interaction between the callers... one person finishes speaking and then another in put on-air straight away to respond or build on the comments made. There's no 10 minute gaps between calls where the presenters are waxing lyrical about what they think and how important their own opinions are.

How many calls are there on an average night of Football Heaven? Six? Eight? Hardly a voice for the fans all over South Yorkshire is it?

And while we're at it, do we really need our intelligence insulting with that daft bloody recap at 18:30? You've only taken three calls in that half an hour... I'm quite sure I can remember them!

Not to mntion that the start of the program starts with a news round up which usually takes 5 mins then there is all the traffic updates and what not.

Or the downright ridiculous "Showbiz" news you get on other stations!

"You're listening to BBC Radio Sheffield, home of Toby Foster; bigger at breakfast".

That's as maybe but I'm listening to Football Heaven.

They don't interrupt the news to say "you're watching BBC1, home of Eastenders", do they!

Good quote tonight after someone rang in asking about their coverage of Chesterfield and the questions they ask.

"We ask the questions that matter, whether he thinks that or not!"

Matter to who? he's a fan and a listener ringing in politely saying otherwise! :)

they don't matter at all. I've emailed them on numerous occasions and never once had a response

Just listening to Football Heaven last night... I think Barnsley's lawyers have been on to Radio Sheffield as they are very loathe to allow anyone to question the medical care from Barnsley.

Slagging off United is all par for the course though...

Sorry but Simon Davey said himself right after the game that Humes cheek looked out of place. I cant believe not one person amongst the Barnsley ranks didnt say you know what you need to goto hospital.

Hahaha.... apparently because Hume has been injured we should stop litigation against West Ham

And Seth has just read out that he is an idiot :D

EDIT: Chris the Dingle on 32 minutes.

He's phoned in to complain about Radio Sheffield. He's got mardies on because they've said that Chris Morgan was not malicious.

Apparently the Barnsley fans are "gunning for Radio Sheffield and they'll need a Police escort into the ground."

Just listening to last nights programme, I feel lucky to have got out of Barnsley alive yesterday.

I wonder if Chris has recieved a visit from the law enforcement professionals tomorrow regarding his comments last night.

As a small aside i don't usually listen to football heaven but something that i always listen out for is the input of Riccardo as i'm always amazed that someone with such a low intelligence can actually operate a telephone
