Horrible situation for everyone concerned as we all know, wouldn't wish detrimental effects on the club of course (though football is obviously a secondary issue) but wonder what effect this may have on Fleetwood and it's weird that this should be announced at this time of the season to a league one promotion hopeful again.

In any event can't see them being too much of a threat to us as long as we stay professional, and think Bolton will have enough to pip them for second.

All sounds a bit fishy to me...

Fishy = Shark = Woodardfan.

I bet he was trawling

I know I sound like a an old fart, but a woman being raped isn't really that funny, is it?

We've had the news, which may be relevant to a promotion rival, but the jokes seem in very poor taste to me.

I make crap jokes as much as the next man, but it just seems a bit wrong here, when presumably some woman's life is now in bits.

Tell me if I'm being over sensitive.

Yep, you'd think with the club's own relatively recent history that the sensitivities would have been fairly apparent.

Also, it's in the wrong section...

No you not wrong I didn't mean to make light of such a vile thing I appologise

No, you're quite right in all honesty. I did think about it after posting but it was too late to edit/delete it.

There's that much hate and personal abuse on here these days from some members I rarely post and when I do it's often just a one liner, but I apologise for this one as it was in very poor taste.

I'm no angel and post plenty of crap, some of it abusive.

For some reason this seemed over the top, but it's great to see that everyone recognises it.

Maybe we aren't such a bad bunch after all......

Interesting there's been so little coverage of this third div clubs player being on rape charges I have only just heard it. Suppose they keep all these cases low profile. And well said I should coco but stand by for Katey loudmouth and the Troll on Twitter (forgot name they were that important) to wade in, ow, just a minute......

A thread that hasn't descended into personal insults and lifetime bans? Makes a nice change, Bravo chaps.

T'old Jean Hatchet hasn't picked up on this story yet. She hasn't built up enough anger yet, she is just back on a crusade to block transgendered people having human rights.

I actually saw this on the Daily Mail who were trying to make a big a story out of it as they could, but decided not to offer them click-bait and showed a link from a local paper instead.

Speaking of Manchester City (again another weird co-incidence), at their academy they apparently removed the picture of Ched in their 'hall of fame' after his conviction, I would hope that they have reinstated it by now.

I suppose we can relate we the Ched affair, and as someone else rightly pointed out innocent until proven guilty, he is a fairly prominent player for them? I am guessing not so much as Ched was for us in that ill fated season?

Glendon, who has made 25 appearances for the League One club this term and last featured as a late substitute in the 1-0 win over Walsall last week, has not been suspended by the club who stressed they have not been made aware by Manchester City that Glendon had been interviewed by the police regarding the case.

could have very serious implications for them like the Ched case did for us, I have not seen anything other than the posted article so I guess more will come out in the next few weeks, just hope justice is served and correct no matter what.

As far as the quality of the player on the pitch, perhaps they aren't losing much. Its the mental factor that it might have on the players that could derail them.

Put it this way, if Ched had been injured just before the MK Dons game and for the rest of the 2011/12 season I would have wagered that we would have gone up.

(oh and he has been called up for the Wales youth team in the past)

And he does seem to have done ok for them so far:

'Uwe Rosler insists there’s ‘much more to come’ from George Glendon after the midfielder committed his long-term future to Fleetwood Town.

The Cod Army agreed an undisclosed fee with Manchester City for the 21-year-old, who has put pen-to-paper on an 18 month deal at Highbury Stadium with option for an extra year.

And Rosler is delighted with the deal, and the progress of the youngster who impressed in his 16 loan appearances this season.

“I’m very, very happy and looking forward to working with Glenno,” said Rosler.

“We are delighted to make the loan move permanent, it’s a big deal for Fleetwood Town.

“I think Glenno had been developed into a player who stood up to the challenge and rose on the challenge and showed what a good player he is.”

“There’s far more to come, there’s a lot of potential in him and we are excited to watch him develop.

“Our strategy is to sign players on loan, find out if they’re suiting us and we suit them, and going into partnership.” '

Doubt his court case will fall at such a pivotal time of the season though.

Who was it who got their case postponed until after the season finished?

Can't remember who it was or the details but he played for a top club (Chelsea?) and I think it was about the same time.

Always wondered how come he managed that but Ched didn't.

Over a year before even charging him? Seems a bit odd.
