This is the standard? Top 6 Championship? I don’t remember Wales moaning when they got to the late stages of the Euros with a side containing championship players. At least five SPL clubs are L1 standard.

Not entirely true.

Only one of the Wales starting eleven for their Euro 2016 semi final played for a Championship club.

All the rest were Premier League players apart from Bale.

Two, Robson-Kanu and Gunter. Simon Church came off the bench, as did Vokes who’d just spent a season in the championship. And I said ‘got to the late stages’ not ‘played in the semi finals’.

No?

I speak as a Sheffield United fan first second and last not as John Egan.
As far as your question goes why don't you ask him. Or aren't you scribbling for that comic anymore.
Well from our perspective, if a player has to leave to get a crack at a national team the level of Ireland and Scotland then that’s not good. It’s actually important to some players, and for some this can force a move away from a club they are happy at.

Why the fuck anyone wants any of our players getting picked for internationals is totally beyond me.

In Fleck’s case, the tangible benefit for us might be that we stand a better chance of keeping him in the next couple of transfer windows if he doesn’t feel that moving would enhance his chances of Scotland caps—see, eg, Jamie Murph, who is on record as saying he had to leave us to get capped (even if it was really about paying for the Desso :)).

Rory Milne? Twat.

Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck joined the group on Sunday, with McLeish saying the uncapped 27-year-old had "slotted in no problem".

"He trained today and looked extremely comfortable," he said. "He has excellent composure on the ball."

(No shit batman !!)

Almost comes across that he`s surprised. Doesn`t say much for the Scottish national team`s scouting system.

Championship is probably one of the best leagues for quality outside of Spain germany Italy n England definitiey more quality than Scotland

Well that's that then. Still no cap. Not surprised sadly.

Ach, that's a shame. I'd much rather have seen Fleck get his cap than McTominnay coming on for his usual cameo.

Happy with the result though obviously. Fleck will get his chance I'm sure.

So glad he is 100% freah for Saturday.

My take on it is will fleck being around the Scottish squad help in recruiting the best from that squad if he talks about how good it is to be a blade. Not that all will fit into the blades way or be good enough!
UTB

Got to say when your hanging on at the end and need a little experience to get you over the line, why bring on Man Utd’s golden boy who’s played less first team minutes in his career than Fleck has this season?
I’ll predict Fleck won’t be picked again. It just got to the point where there were so many withdrawals the dinosaur McLeish couldn’t ignore him anymore.

For all the digs the pigs give us about Bannan getting called up etc.. He's had 27 caps. He's won 8 of those at Wednesday... EIGHT.. over 3 years.

Why the fuck anyone wants any of our players getting picked for internationals is totally beyond me. We need every half decent player fit and firing for us.
Egan has just pulled out of the paddies next game with injury. Never mind. He had a meaningless appearance against Northern fucking Ireland so we should be all giddy happy.
Ffs.

How did that work out for Jamie Murphy?

"Ffs"

It's better than La Liga. Wednesday fans said so.
Yeah but what do those bouncing trogladites know about football.....they built a better defensive line than the French did with the Maginot...not even Rommel could have got through that...
